Celtics' opponents average .494 free throw attempts per field goal attempt through three games; only Dallas and Milwaukee have been worse. Boston fans aren't used to seeing all these whistles, but the simple reason is that opponents are getting the ball in much better positions than before. Even the Celtics' good stats are bad. Boston opponents have only tried 14 3-pointers per game, the leagu...

Thoughts I thought – Celtics pick up their first win

Paul Pierce's return to the line-up was the big story for the Celtics against the Pistons Thoughts I thought Paul Pierce’s return was easily the most important thing these Boston Celtics needed to finally get into the win column. It was clear from the get go that Paul Pierce was trying to be aggressive and prove that he was ready to return. He got to the basket, got himself...

Taking Stock: C's-Heat

After each game, we'll be taking stock in each players... and maybe coach's... performance.  If we like what we see, we're buyin'.  If we don't, we're sellin'.  Or maybe we'll just hold onto our stock until we see more next game Paul Pierce:  The man who hasn't played a minute yet has shown us all that he's horribly indispensable. ...

Celtics Drop to 0-3 Without Paul Pierce After Falling to Hornets

NEW ORLEANS -- Jarrett Jack's first regular-season start since the Chris Paul trade was more than good enough for the New Orleans Hornets. Jack had 21 points and nine assists in his season debut, and New Orleans dominated in its home opener, beating the winless Boston Celtics 97-78 on Wednesday night. The Celtics are 0-3 for the first time since 2006-07, the season before they...

(ESPN Boston)Doc Rivers after the game: “He got hit pretty badly. I know they think it’s a deep bruise. He’s probably out [Wednesday vs. New Orleans]....

Jermaine O'Neal Showcases His Offensive Potential With Big Showing in Celtics' First Win

When Jermaine O'Neal's final jump shot snapped through the net in the fourth quarter, the Celtics center didn't seem the least bit surprised. O'Neal considers himself a capable scorer, even if the evidence -- eight total points in the Celtics' first three games -- says otherwise at this point in his career. O'Neal was finally able to contribute offensively...

Prized Possession: The Game Winning Oop

It is often said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and if that's true, then in calling up the game-winning alley-oop in the Miami HEAT's 103-101 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Erik Spoelstra offered up the best compliment any coach could offer to Doc Rivers.
