Jamaal Charles, Adrian Peterson, LeSean McCoy, Marshawn Lynch. These are arguably the best running backs in the NFL today and the Seattle Seahawks can count their lucky charms that they can claim one of them as their own. For three consecutive seasons, Lynch has rushed for over 1,200 yards, picking up at least 63 first downs in the process. He’s also scored a minimum of 10 rushing touchdowns each year. That puts him in some very exclusive company. During that stretch he has only sat out one regular season game. While these are some of the gaudiest numbers for any running back in the league, they cannot last forever. Lynch will turn 28 in April and it’s rare for a power back to see his production stay even past that age. GM John Schneider knows that one day the Beast will have to be put out to pasture, and the current crop of backups is less than awe-inspiring. Robert Turbin averaged only 3.4 yards per carry in 2013, and rookie Christine Michael never even saw the field unless the ou...

MVP Malcom Smith tweets support for Michael Sam

The Seattle Seahawks have a unique organization. In a sport that so often prides itself on rigid hierarchies and suffocating tradition, the team has embraced new ways of thinking about almost every aspect of football. That philosophy has extended itself beyond the field and into the locker room and even the cafeteria. Yoga, free range chickens, monitoring sleep patterns. These are...

Seahawks sign three players to a future deal

Today the Seattle Seahawks signed three players to future’s contracts.  The first was Travis Beckum the former New York Giant tight end that spent the year trying to latch on with a team.  Well he has finally found a home now in Seattle.  The Seahawks also brought in Mike Taylor the amazing linebacker prospect from […]The post Seahawks sign three players to a future deal appeared...

Seahawks Used Quite A Few Former Undrafted Players In 2013

Following the Seattle Seahawks win in Super Bowl XLVIII, we took a look at their defense and how it was mostly constructed of third-round or later draft picks. If that's not impressive enough, 21 of the 53 players on their roster for that game came into the NFL as undrafted free agents, according to a Saturday tweet by ESPN. According to my research, the Seahawks only had 19...

How Do The Seattle Seahawks Have (Another) Championship Offseason?

If you ask anyone in the Seattle Seahawks organization when the road to a Super Bowl victory truly began, they will say January 14th, 2013. For those without a perfect memory, that is the day after the playoff loss to the Atlanta Falcons. They called it the championship offseason. Fueled by Pete Carroll’s “always compete” philosophy and Russell Wilson’s “why not us?”...

Seahawks fans’ noise caused safety on first play of Super Bowl

Seattle Seahawks fans have gained a well-deserved reputation for being some of the best and noisiest fans in the NFL. A lot of that has been attributed to the structure and design of CenturyLink Field, where the Seahawks play their home games. But if you believe that C-Link Field is the sole reason for the […]

var ACE_AR = {Site: '898551', Size: '468060', CallType: 'IFRAME'}; According to the Seattle Times,  running back Spencer Ware’s pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for March 3rd, stemming from his DUI arrest back on January 12th. 49ers “Waldo” Human Kindness Story

The story of “49ers Waldo Kid” keeps getting more interesting. After being spotted at the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl parade in full 49ers attire, the teenager became a national story. 49ers fans decided to raise money to send the youngster to a game at Levi’s Stadium. Then things got interesting. It was discovered that he is a ward of the state, meaning he is essentially...

Who are the NFL’s top free agent quarterbacks?

The San Francisco 49ers are fond of asking who’s got it better than them. Well, when it comes to quarterbacks, there are a few teams that immediately come to mind. Two of them played in the Super bowl last weekend and one of them won it all. Russell Wilson is the complete package: he’s talented, has rock-solid character, and is tremendously underpriced. The Seahawks and their...

Super Bowl XLVIII: Where Does this Blowout Rank Historically?

For most of the second half of Super Bowl XLVIII, my mind was more focused on deciding where the Seattle Seahawks‘ beating ranked historically among Super Bowl victories instead of the action still remaining to take place. After Percy Harvin opened the second half with a kickoff return touchdown, the game was signed, sealed, and delivered for the Seahawks. So then the only question...

Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Parade Recap

Last Wednesday, February 5, 2014, the Seattle Seahawks had a parade to celebrate their Super Bowl XLVIII championship.  Only the second of its kind in Seattle history (the first celebrated the Seattle Sonics’ 1979 NBA Championship), the event attracted 700,000+ fans from around the area.  Here was my front row seat to share with you. 7:56 AM – I caught the bus like I do...

Time to Give Pete Carroll the Respect He Deserves

The transition from college to NFL had not been done successfully since Jimmy Johnson in the late '80s. And there was no shortage of attempts.  From Butch Davis to Steve Spurrier to Nick Saban, there was a twenty-plus year run of coaches who enjoyed unprecedented success in college failing miserably in their opportunities in the NFL. So when Pete Carroll left USC to become...
