ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper, Jr. released his first big board since the end of the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine. On today’s SportsCenter, a graphic was shown that included the top ten rated players by Kiper. Included in Kiper’s top ten is a lone linebacker, one receiver, two cornerbacks, two quarterbacks and four defensive linemen.

The Cowboys have the number nine overall pick, so they will be able to snag one of the top rated players. All players, minus the quarterbacks, have the ability to make an immediate impact in the NFL. Most mock drafts have the Cowboys selecting Prince Amukamara with their first round pick. Amukamara is a future star and he has the versatility to play safety or corner for the Cowboys.

Drafting a cornerback would also give Dallas the option to release Terrence Newman and open up some space under the salary cap.

Another great option for Dallas would be linebacker Von Miller. A slide for Miller is possible, due to linebackers generally not going high in the draft. Miller has said before that he would like to stay in Texas and having him line up across from DeMarcus Ware would provide a deadly pass rush for years to come.

Which of Mel Kiper’s top ten players would you like to see represent the star next season?
