The New York Jets didn’t just trade for Tim Tebow to sell jerseys and run a Wildcat formation. They traded for the popular Tebow to compete with the inconsistent Mark Sanchez to be the Jets top signal caller.
Tebow won with the Denver Broncos last year, and will eventually overtake Sanchez sometime this season to lead the Jets’ offense.
However, don’t expect Tebow to succeed either.
Both Sanchez and Tebow severely underperformed this preseason. They both like really stunk. The two combined for 37-for-71 passing, 354 yards, 0 TDs, and 4 INTs (42.8 passer rating).
