QuarterbacksMichael Vick, QB, PHIInjury: HamstringStatus: QuestionableDepth Chart: StarterBack-up: Nick FolesNews: Michael Vick left Sunday’s game in the second quarter with a recurrent or exacerbated hamstring injury, and did not return.Fantasy ramification: As I wrote in Week 5’s Monday morning injury report regarding Michael Vick, “Hamstring injuries are difficult to recover from, and have high recurrence rates.” It appears Vick was a statistic on Sunday as he is one of the many athletes having consecutive hamstring injuries in a short time span. Hamstring injuries become more prevalent in athletes that have a recent history of hamstring strain(s). If you can still get value for Vick in a trade, you should start making offers now. Vick is likely to be plagued with this hamstring issue for the rest of the season. It also limits his ability to put up big rushing totals, so his value is limited. Expect him to miss at least a week. This also decreases the Eagles receivers’ short-term value.Robert Griffin III, QB, WASInjury: Left kneeDepth Chart: StarterBack-up: Kirk CousinsNews: Griffin was held out of the final minutes of Sunday's game against the Broncos after being driven to the ground while throwing his second interception of the game.Fantasy Ramification: To begin, every Griffin owner needs to take a very deep breath and compose himself or herself. First, this injury occurred on Griffin’s left knee, and it was his right knee that was surgically repaired this past offseason. Second, Griffin was seen trying to get back into the game following this injury. This doesn’t mean his knee is not structurally damaged, but it means it’s nothing too severe. Players with serious ligament damage are not able to run immediately after the injury, an Griffin was seen lightly jogging around on the sideline. This should be seen as promising that his injury is not too severe. The game was out of hand when he was pulled in the fourth quarter, so the Washington staff likely held him out as a conservative measure. More will be known throughout the week, but Griffin owners have no reason to panic as of now.   Wide Receivers Brandon Gibson, WR, MIAInjury: Torn patellar tendonDepth Chart: Back-up (behind Brian Hartline)Back-up:  Rishard MatthewsNews: Gibson scored a touchdown on Miami's first offensive possession, and then exited the game before halftime with a knee injury.Fantasy Ramification: Initial reports are Gibson suffered a patellar tendon tear. If this diagnosis is correct, his season would be over. Gibson will likely receive a MRI on Monday to confirm the initial diagnosis. If you are a Gibson owner, you should hit the waiver-wire hard this week to get a playable WR. Tight EndsJulius Thomas, TE, DENInjury: AnkleDepth Chart: StarterBack-up: Joel DreessenNews: Thomas left Sunday's game against Washington with an ankle injury in the third quarter.Fantasy Ramification: Thomas has a history of ankle injuries. That is one of the main reasons why he couldn't stay on the field during his first two NFL seasons. On the play he was hurt, it appeared his leg (anatomical leg is below the knee) was excessively rotated on the tackle. This mechanism of injury is more consistent with a high ankle sprain than a lateral ankle sprain. High ankle sprains tend to take more time for healing than lateral ankle sprains, but the severity of the sprain is the best indicator of the time needed until return. There is officially no report on Thomas’ ankle injury at this time, but there is a strong chance it’s a high ankle sprain. He may be able to return after the bye.
