Found September 05, 2013 on The Victory Formation:
In addition to our upcoming Annual poke fun at the writers NFL Predictions post, this year we decided to do something a little different.  We ranked “All NFL 32* teams” based on their current QB situation. *Note* I accidentally left the Giants and Rams off the list of “All 32 NFL teams, because I’m a moron. Some people noticed and included them, some did not. This was designed to include not just the starting quarterbacks, but also the backup situation. So while Peyton Manning is undoubtedly one of the five best QBs in the NFL, one bad hit and the Broncos are suddenly staring straight at Brock Osweiler. Or, as John G likes to call him, his buddy Ross. These ranks took into account the current starters, their durability (or more accurately, how likely they are to miss time), and also what kind of situation the teams would be in if the starter went down. Also, this poll was completed before a few teams announced their starters.  But let’s be honest – the Bills, Jets, and others weren’t exactly top-10 material anyway.  So, let’s break this down in reverse order, with comments from a few of our authors below each […]

New England Patriots Poised To Make Another Super Bowl Run?

The New England Patriots head into the upcoming 2013 NFL regular season once again as one of the elite teams with arguably the best Super Bowl odds in the league after finishing on top in the AFC East for the fourth consecutive season and the seventh time in eight seasons. A strong finish to last season—9-1 in their final 10 contests—earned the Patriots a first-round bye in...

Peyton Manning was a monster for the Record Books in 2013 debut

Welcome to the 2013 season, folks. The Broncos put it to the Ravens in the season opener on Thursday Night Football (or Sunday Night Football on Thursday Night or whatever it was called).  I’ve already gone into some detail on some shining performances from the likes of Julius Thomas and other under-the-radar players. But, this […]The post Peyton Manning was a monster for the...

Peyton Manning Ties NFL Record With Seven TD Passes in Single Game (Video)

If you were sleep, or under a rock, you missed quite an opening night to the NFL season. Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos opened their regular season with a rematch of the their AFC Divisional loss to the Baltimore Ravens. From the outset of the ballgame, it seemed as if Peyton Manning was trying to make up for his late game interception during the Broncos playoff loss to the...

Tom Brady hints Johnny Manziel should be careful with showboating

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel have very little in common. One is a Heisman Trophy winner and the other was relatively unknown in college. One makes things happen with his legs, while the other is one of the greatest pocket passers of all-time. And then, there’s the whole […]

Manning throws NFL record 7 TDs as Broncos rout Ravens

Peyton Manning won the Poster War. Manning was hanging in banner form back turned to his enemy pictured in the classic quarterback pose a glove missing from his right passing hand. The other poster controversially hanging outside the stadium that Denver-area taxpayers and Broncos owner Pat Bowlen built was Joe Flacco. He represented the bane of what Denver fans wish for. After...

Fantasy revelations: Manning ties TD record in Broncos' win

Here are four fantasy revelations from the Broncos' 49-27 thumping of the Ravens on Thursday, which included an NFL-record-tying performance from Peyton Manning. 1. Even in hindsight, it's hard to feel guilty about Manning's No. 8 ranking for the week Of his nine previous season openers, Manning (462 yards passing, seven TDs vs. Baltimore) had thrown for 2,529 yards...

Peyton Manning puts up video game numbers as Broncos defeat Ravens

You know when you are playing Madden and you are unstoppable, well last night Peyton Manning has that feeling. At least in the second half. Believe it or not the Denver Broncos were actually losing at halftime 17-14. If you stopped watching the game after the first quarter when you saw the miscommunication between Peyton Manning and the Broncos wide outs, you would be stunned when...

Manning joins rare company in Thursday night opener

Broncos fans have to be encouraged by the performance of Peyton Manning and the Denver offense, particularly in the second half of the opener Thursday night. Manning joined rare company in having thrown for seven touchdowns in a game – only five others have accomplished that feat. Manning had closed in on the mark twice previously, tossing six TDs against Detroit in 2004 and against...

5 QBs with Something to Prove in Week 1

After Peyton Manning set the football world on fire with his seven-touchdown performance on Thursday night, the NFL season is now in full swing as Sunday will present the first slate of games for the 2013 season. While it’s unlikely that Manning’s performance against Baltimore on Thursday night will be duplicated this week, there are [...]

Columbus Dispatch mixes up John Elway and Peyton Manning

The editor at the Columbus Dispatch obviously was asleep at the wheel when they were going through this article talking about the Denver Broncos-Baltimore Ravens game.  The title of the article said “Elway Throws For Seven Touchdown passes” and the first two words of the article are “Peyton Manning.”  Then the next paragraph starts with “Elway” and the following one...

Broncos will try three-headed RB

The Broncos have three tailbacks competing for playing time. The winner may be the one who best protects Peyton Manning.

Web-wide AFC East power rankings: Week 1

NFC East Preview

The NFC East is filled with question marks. Just one team made the playoffs from the division last year, the Washington Redskins, who recovered from a 3-6 start to win the division. It really is anyone’s guess as to who the…Read more →
