49ers cornerback Tarell Brown has been helped off the field in the NFC championship game after a hard collision with teammate and safety Dashon Goldson.
Both defenders were attempting to make a play - even a possible interception - on a pass by Giants quarterback Eli Manning with 1 minute left in the third quarter Sunday when Goldson raced up from his position and hit Brown in the helmet area and sent him to the ground.
Brown was down for several minutes, with coach Jim Harbaugh on his knees checking on the player, and a stretcher was brought to the field before Brown got up and instead limped off with assistance. He was moving and talking immediately after the play.

The 49ers fell one game short of playing the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Wait let me rephrase that, Kyle Williams muffed two punts to keep the 49ers from going to play the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

The battle raged on into overtime. And then . . . 49ers punt returner Kyle Williams fumbled the ball away, giving the Giants its opportunity to kick the winning field goal. This was the same Kyle Williams who muffed a punt earlier in the game. The rest of his winter will be most unpleasant. How does a player come back...

Does ESPN have an East Coast bias?
Not really if you believe Deadspin. The San Francisco 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh made headlines -- on the West Coast only presumably -- early in the NFL season when he complained that the NFL Network and ESPN did not cover his team despite its early success.
Deadspin tracked what teams, athletes and sports ESPN mentioned the most in its 11...
