49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree has a bad taste in his mouth. It's there as a result of the way his -- and the 49ers' -- 2012 season ended. One catch, three yards and a disappointing loss to the New York Giants in the NFC Championship Game. With a chance for redemption Saturday against Green Bay, Crabtree's focus is on one thing. "I'm really focused on these playoffs," he said. "With how bad I did last year, in my opinion, I feel like I didn't do what I was supposed to do. I feel like I get another chance. We're back again and ready to win." This time around, Crabtree comes in as the focal point of the passing game. He set career highs in receptions (85), yards (1,105) and touchdowns (9) during the regular season and came on especially strong late and he developed a good rapport with quarterback Colin Kaepernick. "My dude made it happen," Crabtree said in reference to Kaepernick after the final regular-season game....

Michael Crabtree at breakfast, interesting to say the least (PHOTO)

Black Sports Online Thanks to Black Sports Online we got a hold of this photo of 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree eating breakfast in a hotel room with a robe and a head scarf. I guess this is how Crabtree gets ready the day before a game. It’s certainly been working, he’s had a very good season so far.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script...

The 49ers decision to go with Colin Kaepernick will pay off this weekend. Ranking the playoff quarterbacks.

Denver, New England and Green Bay each have a future Hall of Fame Quarterback on their roster.  This weekend is going to have some great QB play. The Wildcard round brought us some pretty bad games.  The marque quarterbacks were on a bye so this week should be a lot better.  Here are the quarterbacks and how they stack-up 1) Manning - Peyton Manning is the MVP of the League...

David Akers beats out Billy Cundiff, will kick vs. Green Bay

The San Francisco 49ers decided on a little healhty competition at the kicker position in an effort to light a fire under David Akers, who apparently righted the ship, beating out Billy Cundiff to kick in Saturday night's playoff matchup with the Green Bay Packers. Head coach Jim Harnbaugh made his decision Thursday, but Akers isn't in the clear beyond Saturday. The team...

San Francisco 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh: Justin Smith Will Play vs Packers

Justin Smith will be on an NFL field for the first time in four weeks, since he suffered a partially torn triceps tendon against the Patriots. Jim Harbaugh said he expects Smith to start Saturday’s game against the Packers. Smith has still been limited in practice, and it is unknown at what percentage of strength he will be playing at this weekend. Considering he ended his extremely...

49ers Injury Report: Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Patrick Willis

The San Francisco 49ers expect all players on their active roster, including defensive lineman Justin Smith and linebackers Aldon Smith and Patrick Willis, to play during tonight’s NFC Divisional round matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Smith has garnered the most attention of all the players listed on the 49ers injury report. The defensive tackle had been out since he sustained...

49ers stay with K Akers for playoff game

The San Francisco 49ers are sticking with struggling kicker David Akers for Saturday night's NFC playoff game against Green Bay. The 49ers signed veteran Billy Cundiff last week to challenge Akers for the job, but Akers won out during practices the past nine days. "I think, suffice it to say, we feel confident in David giving us the best chance to win," San Francisco...

San Francisco 49ers: Three New Year's Resolutions For 2013

As Coach Harbaugh ponders what happened in 2012 and looks forward to the 2013 season, I believe there are three resolutions he needs to make with the team to help bring them to a better place in 2013. First of all it's time we make it back to a Super Bowl.  It's been 18 years already, and as well all know, the 49ers are unique in that they've been to five Super Bowls...

Packers aim to match 49ers' physicality

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The physicality of the San Francisco 49ers cannot be questioned. With a defense that ranked second this season in points allowed and third in yards allowed, the 49ers have one of the NFL's elite groups. The Green Bay Packers, on the other hand, are getting plenty of those questions leading into Saturday night's divisional round playoff game. It's been...

NinersDigest’s Craig Massei and PackerReport’s Bill Huber go Behind Enemy Lines to take an inside look at the 49ers and Packers. How are the 49ers a different team than Week 1 in this playoff rematch? How much of a gamble is it going with Colin Kaepernick at QB? Was the bye week a good thing for the 49ers, and do they have an Achilles heel for the Packers to exploit? These Q...

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers, Divisional Playoff Preview

Photo Credit: 49ers This could very well be one of the finer divisional weekends in NFL history depending on how the NFC matchups end up, and this game tops them all. San Francisco and Green Bay are two of the more prestigious franchises in the NFL, and they have had several thrilling finishes in the postseason. One that comes to mind would be the game where Jerry Rice fumbled and...
