Jim Harbaugh still believes Ahmad Brooks made a clean hit on Drew Brees and should have been credited with a game-clinching fumble. Instead, Brooks was flagged for a personal foul on the Saints quarterback in the waning minutes Sunday and the 49ers watched Garrett Hartley kick a pair of late field goals to lift New Orleans over the reigning NFC champions 20-17. Another heartbreaking three-point loss in the Superdome. Back in February, it was a 34-31 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl. While Harbaugh acknowledged Monday he has a ''slanted view'' of Brooks' play, the 49ers (6-3) are dealing with their second two-game skid of the season after San Francisco never lost consecutive games in Harbaugh's initial two years as coach. Harbaugh is challenging himself to ''coach better.'' --- AP NFL website:

Ahmad Brooks Says Maybe Refs Were For The Saints More Than 49ers

It was a bad call. Brooks hit on Brees was violent, but legal. With that being said, 49ers had opportunities after that to win the game and made a bunch of crucial mental errors. I understand Brooks frustrations though. “I didn’t hit him with my hand or my helmet,” Brooks said. “I basically bear-hugged him. That’s just how football is played. I think this s— is bull...

Saints Nation: Offensive Player Grades vs. 49ers

The Saints needed every single one of the 387 yards they gained in order to win this one. While the game was close because of three costly turnovers, the offense was only responsible for one of them. This was in my opinion the offensive line's best game considering the opponent. The most impressive part of this game was the 97 yard statement drive that gave the Saints a 7-0 lead...
