NFL Injury Report:
San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Justin Smith returned
last weekend to help his team take on and defeat the Green Bay Packers in the
NFC Divisional round despite his partially torn triceps injury. While there’s a
chance Smith could further damage his triceps by continuing to play, he said
the injury should be even better this week, adding that it doesn’t concern him
much, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.
"It felt pretty good for the most part, just getting
used to it, playing with it," Smith said of playing with a brace on his
left elbow. "It should be even better this week after going through it and
knowing how it felt and what to expect. So it should be even better this
Smith’s injury will require offseason surgery to repair.
Until then, he is wearing a protective brace on his arm to help prevent further
damage from occurring.
Despite his injury, the Packers continued to double-team
Smith. San Francisco’s defense wasn’t the same after he was injured against the
New England Patriots, and regardless of his injury and limitation the 49ers are
glad to have him back.

Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Nolan admits he has fond memories of his time coaching the San Francisco 49ers.
"I have great memories of the place. A lot of good things happened there as well,"Nolan said. "Obviously, getting fired is not a good thing. But nonetheless, there's a lot of players still playing there that we added I obviously look forward
Sean Weatherspoon the Falcons weakside linebacker knows the Falcons are in for a huge test. The San Francisco running game has pounded opponents all year via the ground, and with the addition of mobile quarterback Colin Kaepernick, they have another explosive option to unleash.
The Falcons defense has struggled with the mobile quarterback in 2012, and Sunday will be the worse case...
According to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh placed a laminated photo of each of his players from back in high school and what they were nationally ranked as football players.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is all about using whatever tactics he can to motivate his players, so last weekend Harbaugh went old school on them according to the L.A. Each player got a laminated sheet...
The first reason is head coach Jim Harbaugh. During his lengthy 14 year playing career, Jim Harbaugh commanded his teams to a combined record of 66-74, reflecting that he wasn’t the greatest of quarterbacks to step foot onto a field. However, he is 24-8 as a coach, reflecting that he was a great student and learned from some top notch coaches during his playing days. Prior...

Gotta say, the Super Bowl with the 49ers will be quite interesting with Jim Harbaugh’s incessant demands for cake and the revelation that Joe Staley set a guy on fire.

San Francisco 49ers @ Atlanta FalconsNFC ChampionshipSaturday, January 20th, 2013 @ 3:00 PM ET on FOXMike - I think I owe an apology to Colin Kaepernick, as I thought he would be the downfall of the 49ers, instead he went out and set the NFL record for most rushing yards by a QB in a game. Woops. With the 49ers coming into Atlanta, I think the Falcons will be somewhat prepared for...
Who will you be rooting for in the NFC Championship Game?
Raj: I will be rooting for San Francisco. I realize that in terms of simplicity, the Falcons would be an "easier" team for the Patriots. However, I think both teams pose a big threat. The 49ers are a slightly tougher threat but I know that New England can beat this team again. A known devil (San Francisco)...
