The San Francisco 49ers have placed defensive tackle Will Tukuafu on the season-ending injured reserve list with a wrist injury. He becomes the first player since the regular season began to go on IR. Tukuafu played in all four games this year, recording two tackles and recovering a fumble. That play came in a 33-17 season-opening win over the Seahawks. Tarvaris Jackson was sacked by Parys Haralson, who forced a fumble that was recovered in the air by Tukuafu on his first career play from scrimmage. Source: Associated Press

Smith, a 285-pound defensive end, chased down Philadelphia Eagles speedy receiver Jeremy Maclin and forced a fumble that safety Dashon Goldson recovered at the 49ers' 31-yard line.
Once the 49ers burned off the final...

No shock here: Alex Smith has been at his best this season when targeting Vernon Davis.
Smith had an astronomical 124.0 rating when targeting his Pro Bowl tight end last year and that number hasn't changed much (121.7) through the first four games.
Similarly, Smith, who had a 103.6 rating when...
