According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers have given general manager Trent Baalke a three-year extension that will keep him in the bay area through the 2016 season. Baalke rightfully deserved an extension with the hiring of head coach Jim Harbaugh and the wonderful job he’s done acquiring players through the draft.  Because of him, the 49ers will be the class of the NFC West for a while.

So long, “Mount Pain”

Former 49ers coach Mike Singletary was into giving bombastic speeches. He like old school drills like the “Nutcracker.” His penchant for bold gestures was perhaps best symbolized by “Mt.
