NFL Injury Report:
The San Francisco 49ers expect all players on their active
roster, including defensive lineman Justin Smith and linebackers Aldon Smith
and Patrick Willis, to play during tonight’s NFC Divisional round matchup
against the Green Bay Packers.
Smith has garnered the most attention of all the players
listed on the 49ers injury report. The defensive tackle had been out since he
sustained a partial triceps tear during a Dec. 16 contest against the New
England Patriots. While he wasn’t able to return for the regular season, he
vowed to make it back for the playoffs.
Smith was limited at practice all week and will play with a
brace to protect his injury, but coach Jim Harbaugh said earlier this week that
he expects the defensive tackle to suit up.
Several players, including linebacker Aldon Smith (shoulder),
were limited at practice throughout the week but are expected to play. Fellow
linebackers Patrick Willis (shoulder) and NaVorro Bowman (shoulder) and
cornerback Carlos Rogers (knee) are listed on the report but also expected to

Denver, New England and Green Bay each have a future Hall of Fame Quarterback on their roster. This weekend is going to have some great QB play.
The Wildcard round brought us some pretty bad games. The marque quarterbacks were on a bye so this week should be a lot better.
Here are the quarterbacks and how they stack-up
1) Manning - Peyton Manning is the MVP of the League...
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had quite a Saturday evening. Against the Packers, he ran for 181 yards setting an NFL record for quarterbacks. The highlight was undoubtedly this run in the third quarter which broke a 24-24 tie. The 49ers won the game 45-31 advancing to the NFC Championship round.
The 49ers will wait until Sunday’s game between the Falcons and...
The San Francisco 49ers decided on a little healhty competition at the kicker position in an effort to light a fire under David Akers, who apparently righted the ship, beating out Billy Cundiff to kick in Saturday night's playoff matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
Head coach Jim Harnbaugh made his decision Thursday, but Akers isn't in the clear beyond Saturday. The team...
The San Francisco 49′ers ROCKED the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night, punching their ticket to the NFC Championship round next weekend. 49′ers Michael Crabtree was sensational, he caught nine passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns. During his postgame interview with the NFL network, rapper 2 Chainz video bombs his interview. Ironically enough, Michael [...]
As Coach Harbaugh ponders what happened in 2012 and looks forward to the 2013 season, I believe there are three resolutions he needs to make with the team to help bring them to a better place in 2013. First of all it's time we make it back to a Super Bowl. It's been 18 years already, and as well all know, the 49ers are unique in that they've been to five Super Bowls...
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick (17-31, 263 yards, 2 TD, INT, 14 carries, 181 yards, 2 rushing TDs) overcame an early interception Saturday night and ran himself into the records books to lead his San Francisco 49ers to victory against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers defense simply could not contain the scrambling Kaepernick as he left the pocket frequently, obliterating the record...
Colin Kaepernick repeatedly raced past the Green Bay defense on option runs. Frank Gore barreled over the Packers on more traditional plays.
A week after holding 2,000-yard rusher Adrian Peterson in check, the Packers were run over by the San Francisco 49ers and sent home from the playoffs with a 45-31 loss Saturday night.
The Packers (12-6) came into the game brimming with confidence...

This evening’s divisional playoff game features the Green Bay Packers taking on the San Francisco 49ers. Weather will not play a role in tonight’s contest. Afternoon high temperatures of the low 50′s under sunny skies will give way to a clear night with temperatures in the mid-40′s. This playoff game will be one of three in the divisional round which features a rematch of...

This could very well be one of the finer divisional weekends in NFL history depending on how the NFC matchups end up, and this game tops them all.
San Francisco and Green Bay are two of the more prestigious franchises in the NFL, and they have had several thrilling finishes in the postseason.
One that comes to mind would be the game where Jerry Rice fumbled and...
Who's hurting, and how badly, for this weekend's four divisional-round games? Let's take a look:
Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos
Ravens WR Torrey Smith (back): Smith was limited during Thursday's session due to a back issue, the Ravens' official website reported, and while this is a concern, his practicing suggests that his back issue probably...
