PLAYERS: Eric Reid
TEAMS: San Francisco 49ers
According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, 49ers rookie safety Eric Reid has been solid so far and and is the “front runner” to start at safety. “Eric’s a smart player,” 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said. “He’s diligent. The game’s not too big for him. He’s just going through the normal growing pains of a rookie, learning the system, learning the NFL style of play, the tempo picks up, etc. But he’s doing fine.” Even though Reid is a rookie, he should be an upgrade over Dashon Goldson, who was a hard-hitter and a liability in coverage.     Need NFL Tickets?
