Down and Distance:
Rookie Quinton Patton eager to work(AP Photo) The 49ers rookie wide receiver Quinton Patton has already made a lasting impression on coach Jim Harbaugh, who told KNBR raidio on Wednesday that Patton is already he’s favorite guy. Patton was the 49ers fourth round pick from Louisiana Tech, unfortunately the young man was a little too eager to begin working with his new team, and was told to go home by coach Harbaugh. See the rules state that rookies are allowed to meet the teams right after the draft, but that period has past. If Patton would have arrived at the facilities he would not have been allowed to participate in the teams rookie mini-camp next week. According to Harbaugh the conversation went something like this: “We had to go, ‘You’re where? What airport did you fly in to? You’re in a rental car driving here?’” Harbaugh said. “‘Yeah, coach, 20 minutes away.’ We go, ‘He can’t be here, he can’t come here. He’s not allowed to be at our facility.’” Even though Patton wasn’t allowed at the teams facility, he earned big points with coach Harbaugh. “The fact that he would buy his own ticket, fly out here, just to me speaks volumes about him,” Harbaugh said. “I mean, to be honest with you, he reminds me of me. That’s something I would have done.” Harbaugh said he intends to hug Patton as soon as he arrives for mini-camp next week. One of the most underrated post draft activities is the chase for undrafted free agents. Teams can find diamonds in the rough by combing though their draft boards and finding out who is left.
According to 49ers.com, in the everlasting quest for talent, the 49ers have signed 9 rookie free agents.

Patrick Willis isn't happy with you. When you were asked what you'd like your "upgraded experience" to be from Visa Signature, he noticed you didn't mention anything about strength training with Patrick Willis. Be warned - Willis might come knocking at your door, asking why you made such a decision.

2.8 San Francisco 49ers Cornellius Carradine, DE, Florida St. (6-4, 276)
The 49ers have one of the best defensive lines in the league anchored by Justin Smith and Aldon Smith. And they will be one of the best again this season but age is becoming a factor and they need to start looking to the future.
Cornellius can play in both the 3-4 and 4-3 and be a constantly rotating threat...
San Francisco 49ers
It was an old school game of tit-for-tat between the 49ers and Seahawks this offseason, and I think the defending NFC champions won the battle. Note the word battle.
Theres actually a season to be played. The rich got richer, and San Francisco beefed up any holes on the roster, while adding depth at key positions and replacing the valuable contributors that...
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Marcus Lattimore won't have to look far for inspiration to make it in the NFL after a devastating knee injury. He'll find it standing next to him with the San Francisco 49ers.
Relax 49ers Nation. It is not a typo--I meant Jaguar and not the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. He's not taking over for Blaine Gabbert. One of the NFL's newest rock stars is living the high life though, and has signed an endorsement deal with the maker of some of the finest automobiles on the face of the Earth.
