The 49ers may have finally found their replacement for departed free safety Dashon Goldson. No, it’s not Charles Woodson. Nor is it Ed Reed.

Dahl, a five-year vet who spent the last four seasons with the division-rival Rams, agreed to a contract with the Niners on Saturday reportedly worth $5 million for three years. Dahl previously met with the 49ers on Friday.
Last season Dahl, 27, had 78 tackles and one interception for the Rams. In 70 career games over five seasons (the first with the Giants), the free safety has 320 tackles and four picks.
It’s possible the 49ers could still pursue Woodson and Reed even after the Dahl signing. But that’s all fine and dandy with Dahl, who is ready to fight for the starting job.
Obviously some Niners fans have to be disappointed with the team for signing the relatively anonymous Dahl after flirting with much sexier (and *ahem* much older) names. But regarding this, the...
