Jim Harbaugh kept his sentences short and information at a minimum Monday, repeating a phrase he will rely on following the worst loss of his NFL coaching career: regroup, refit and reorganize. That's all the San Francisco 49ers can do at this point. Beat up and beat down, San Francisco's 42-13 blowout loss at Seattle cost the 49ers (10-4-1) more than just a game. They have another pair of key starters questionable with injuries, let control of a first-round playoff bye slip away and head into the regular-season finale at home against Arizona (5-10) with a slim half-game lead in the NFC West. The only way the 49ers can secure a No. 2 playoff seed - and the first-round bye that comes with it - is a win against the Cardinals coupled with a Green Bay loss at Minnesota. And they could have to do it with tight end Vernon Davis (concussion) and wide receiver Mario Manningham (left knee) the latest starters to join a growing injury list. --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

49ers Manningham has torn ACL and PCL, lost for season

Hopes that an MRI would prove negative were dashed Monday night with a report by ESPN.com that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham is lost for the rest of the season and playoffs with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Manningham suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's 42-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks...

Randy Moss now No. 2 on 49ers depth chart at WR

Randy Moss figured to play a smaller role in San Francisco then he had in his previous NFL stops. No longer. Moss has moved up to the No. 2 spot on the 49ers depth chart. The reason of Moss’ promotion is injuries to Kyle Williams and Mario Manningham. Manningham tore his ACL and PCL, leaving him out for the season. Behind Moss on the depth chart will be rookie A.J. Green and Ted...

Jim Harbaugh denies honking at the Seahawks team bus

The Seattle Seahawks claim that 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh honked his car horn at their team bus when the 49ers defeated the Seahawks back in October. “Yeah, he (honked at us),” Seattle safety Earl Thomas said, per Yahoo! Sports. “It seems like he tries to be a professional in front of the camera, but he does his antics, like that, when the cameras aren’t around. He...

Beat-up Niners regrouping into season finale

Jim Harbaugh kept his sentences short and information at a minimum Monday, repeating a phrase he will rely on following the worst loss of his NFL coaching career: regroup, refit and reorganize. That's all the 49ers can do at this point.

Kam Chancellor Levels Vernon Davis to Break Up Pass, But Penalized for Unnecessary Roughness (Animation)

A few years ago, this hit by Kam Chancellor would have been played over and over on NFL films compilations and praised, but now, it’s dirty. Chancellor broke on a ball floating toward Vernon Davis and leveled him, jarring the ball loose and knocking the 49ers tight end out of bounds. The play by Chancellor saved the reception and a possible touchdown, but it was also flagged for...

Mario Manningham Done For Season

San Francisco receiver Mario Manningham's season came to an end in Week 16 after suffering an ACL injury.Fantasy Spin:Manningham wasn't a reliable every-week performer with Alex Smith or Colin Kaepernick under center. The 49ers will use a combination of Randy Moss and rookie A.J. Jenkins across from their No. 1 option Michael Crabtree.

Tempers flared and a shoving match broke out on Sunday Night Football

A good ol’ fashion shoving match broke out during the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. Some may call it a brawl or a fight but one thing is for sure. These guys didn’t like each other. The fight occurred right before the Seahawks put up 42 points over the San Francisco 49er defense. Flags were thrown and linemen were getting into it with each other. Russell Wilson...

49ers continue W, W, L, trend in Seattle

The 49ers headed into Seattle needing a win to clinch the division and still hold the No. 2 in the NFC. Well none of that happened as they got embarrassed by the Seahawks. The 49ers looked flat, unprepared and they were definitely outcoached. One thing is obvious after this game, Justin Smith is the MVP of this defense. The Seahawks ran at his fill ins and took Aldon Smith and his...

San Francisco 49ers vs. Seahawks Week 16 game balls & stats

We’re In! This team just continues to impress me. Now sitting at #2 all time in a three game scoring spree at 150 points! I said it before, but who in the hell stole my Seahawks and replaced them with real football players? Arizona, and Buffalo are one thing, but San Francisco was the unanimous “best team” in the league last week, and we just destroyed them tonight. Defense...
