Chris Mortensen from ESPN thinks it's highly unlikely that the 49ers will cut backup quarterback Alex Smith this offseason.Fantasy Spin:The Niners would much rather trade Smith than let him go and get nothing back in return. The trouble is, Smith hasn't generated much interest at all around the league. It's a sticky situation for sure and one that may not be resolved until April 1st when Smith becomes eligible to receive his $1 million roster bonus.
