Found November 03, 2012 on The Penalty Flag:
Wes Welker is the next high-profile New England Patriots free agent that is set to hit the market in 2013. Welker, in an interview with Comcast Sports New England following his 13-catch, 104-yard, touchdown effort, ribbed Belichick for limiting his offensive snaps earlier in the 2012 season. ”Yeah it’s kind of nice to stick it in Bill’s face once in awhile,” Welker said. “So this is definitely a good one.” Most are familiar with the story of Bill Belichick and Wes Welker during the beginning season and his reduced role until forced into action. It’s almost as if the Patriots were aware that he will not be resigning with the team and testing the waters to see if they could go on without him.… Read more

  • I hope my Seahawks don't take him. Yes we need a wideout but not him. We played him this year and I watched Welker wilt after getting hit hard by Browner. We want unselfish players, no room for prima donna's on the Hawks roster. Besides we still remember how much of a bust Deion Branch was. BTW yardbarker you (purposely?) forgot about WR Golden Tate on our roster... you know.. the guy who has the most TD receptions on our team.. I know the whole rest of the world hates Tate.. and thats why I like him :)

Patriots trade for Buccaneers corner Aqib Talib

Aqib Talib could be the answer the Patriots have been looking for at cornerback The Patriots traded for (no longer) suspended cornerback Aqib Talib on Thursday, improving their atrocious secondary and getting what could be a shut-down corner. They gave up a 2013 4th rounder, and also received a 2013 7th rounder. Talib has had his fair share of run ins with the law, but we all know...

Tom Brady: "We have to go out there and earn it"

Tom Brady knows a little about earning his keep. Three championships, Five Super Bowl appearances and two MVP's and he still talks like a player who's not done yet. Brady has been his usual carry the team self, bit he's had help in a solid running game, and he's not throwing as much as usual. As Brady nears the end of a Hall of Fame career, he spoke about what...

(Eds: Corrects alma mater to LSU. With AP Photos.) By MATTHEW CARROLL Associated Press Stevan Ridley will be on the sidelines this weekend, just not in uniform. While many players around the NFL escape football during the bye week, New England's second-year running back wants no part of that. Can the Patriots offense get better?

If you ask Tom Brady, yes. Yes, it can.ProFootballTalk“I hope so. I hope we make improvements,” Brady said, via the Boston Herald. “There’s still a lot of football left. We’re 5-3 so that tells you we’ve been a little bit up and down. It hasn’t been terrible. It hasn’t been great and we have a lot of room for improvement, so we’ll see how that goes over the course...

Patriots On The Bye, But Still Making Headlines

The Patriots don’t have a game this weekend, but they remain in the headlines thanks to yesterday’s deal for troubled Tampa cornerback Aqib Talib. The deal, which cost the Patriots a fourth-round pick in the coming draft (and got them back a 7th rounder) has been the subject of much debate and discussion already, with much of the talk centered around Talib’s considerable rap...

Patriotic Halfway Awards

Here we sit halfway through the season chilling and recovering on our bye week. What better time to evaluate the team across the board and hand out some awards to those that have worked hard through the season.MVP - LB/DE Rob NinkovichObvious choice here is Tom Brady. But I'm thinking outside the box here. This award is going to go to LB/DE Rob Ninkovich. Heading in to week 9...

Brady’s Season Has Been One Of His Best

My dad is good for many things. Picking up the tab at dinner. Telling me stories about Mickey Mantle. Falling asleep with his mouth open on the couch. More than all of those, though (well, except the dinner one), he’s best at good ol’ fashioned football talk. For years, the Red Sox – and baseball – were his baby, but as the Patriots have become a surefire 11-win each year...
