Here’s a look at 8 of our fantasy football sleepers for the 2012 football season.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Bills–

In Ryan Fitzpatrick’s first 7 games last year, he completed 68.3% of his passes for 14 TD’s and 8 INT’s.  Then, he broke his ribs, yet gutted out the rest of the season.  Clearly, however, the rib injury hurt his performance as he completed just 57.4% of his passes for 10 TD’s and 16 INT’s the rest of the way.  A healthy 2012, coupled with his Harvard education, should mean improved stats for Fitzpatrick in 2012.

Matt Schaub, QB, Texans –

Matt Schaub is indicative of the importance of looking at 3 year trends and not just last year.  After putting up sick numbers in 2010 and 2009, Schaub’s production fell off in 2011 after an injury put him down after week 10.  He still managed 166 fantasy points and 15 TD’s and 6 INT’s last year.  Being married to 2 time Football’s Hottest Wife, Laurie Schaub, won’t hurt his demeanor either.

James Starks, RB, Packers –

In his third year out of Buffalo, Starks is going to be the go to guy in Green Bay.  Last year, he gained 578 yards, but this year he’ll benefit from Ryan Grant being gone.  Brandon Saine is the #2 guy and he only has 18 career carries.  Look for Starks to easily be a 1000 yard rusher in 2012.

Donald Brown, RB, Colts –

The 4th year player from UConn has steadily improved his numbers each season in the NFL and 2012 will be his year to be the go to guy in Indy.  He scored 5 TD’s last year and had an impressive 4.8 yards per carry to go along with 645 yards.

Greg Little, WR, Browns –

This is an example of a guy being the #1 receiver on a bad team in Cleveland so he won’t get much attention.  Greg Little, however, is Brandon Weeden’s top receiver and the second year player from UNC should put up some decent numbers for you out of your third wide receiver slot.

Malcolm Floyd, WR, Chargers –

Vincent Jackson and his 9 TD’s, 60 receptions, and 1106 yards are gone so Malcolm Floyd, and his 6’5″ frame will be an attractive target for Philip Rivers in the red zone.  I look for him to double his 5 TD’s in 2012.

Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Chiefs –

Dwayne Bowe is still a holdout in the Kansas City camp so Baldwin has become the favorite target for Matt Cassell.  Baldwin was the first round pick out of Pitt last year and at 6′ 4″, he makes for another nice red zone  target.  He’s a nice late round pick for your fantasy football draft.
