A Rivalry Renewed

Eagles Vs Cowboys one of the fiercest rivalries in sports as Eagles fans its embedded in our brains and psyche to hate the Cowboys from the time we could walk and talk. We hate them they hate us, but I dont think they hate us as much as we hate them. Anyway it's one of the most anticipated games of the season, whether its in Philly or Dallas Eagles fans will make their presence felt and let it be know we will never like the Cowboys and fans and what they stand for. This rivaly has changed over the last decade, instead of hard fought close bloody battles, they've been one sided blow outs. The Cowboys used to dominate us in the 90's, but when Andy Reid came along and drafted Donovan McNabb we slowly took control of this battle. Who can forget McNabb Scrambling all over the place and finally finding Fred Ex deep down the middle? We all can remember exactly where we were during that spectacular play.

Last year we split the season series, in week 9 we got our asses handed to us on national television, but we returned the favor in week 15. Both teams have added some new pieces to initiate into one of the best and fiercest rivalries in sports.

Tony Romo had the worst day of this career against that defense, but I am not sure it was totally the defense that day, although they played well. He was not on target with his passes even when he had open receivers. To play that bad and still only lose 17-6 with a last minute TD by Philly is not too bad. He had T.O. wide open behind that secondary twice and overthrew him once and totally missed him the second time. That's not going to happen to often. That being said, I'll take a split this season. If one of the teams gets both victories, then more power to them.

Nice post gunna!!!! I have been saying that number 5 will have a MVP season this year. I also have wondered why the media (espn) doesn't understand just how much us eagles fans hate dallas. I have watched them talk about the most hated rivalries for years now and they never mention Eagles vs. Dallas. They think that the redskins vs. dallas is bigger rivalry? (I quess the whole cowboy indian sh*t). But to me there is no other team that I enjoy beating more , and to prove my point on another article about Mcnabb. Since 1999 we have beaten them 13 out of 19 times (WTF?) They shouldn't be allowed to say anything to us at all. But you know they will ( We have rings and you don't ) I tell you what though if they had to play us 16 games a year they wouldn't have ANY rings. Holla back!!!!!

actually dallas and wash is a more bitter rivalry...u ask y isn't philly and dallas mentioned like that and the reason is b/c its philly that hates us so much not the other way around...I'm an exception cause I have the same feelings about philly that u have about dallas but i'm in the minority when it comes to that...in dallas the true hate is towards the skins...and if we did play 16 games a yr u guys would still be the only team in the division w/o a ring...holla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to disagree a little bit on this one. The Cowboys/Skins used to be what Philly/Dallas is now. The Philly/Dallas rivalry got heated up when Buddy Ryan was in Philly and not much has changed since then. Skins are still a big rival though, just not as intense as it once was.

LOL maybe to you it is anticipated but to us it means nothing... I anticipate a match with a divisional rival that made the playoffs (ANYONE BUT THE EAGLES). So I ask you this, IS a rivalry a rivalry if both sides don't see it that way?

why dont you ask Lito Sheppard. Thats a really intelleigent comment seeing as to how the Cowboys have got balled by the Eagles time after time.. Yea the cowboys and eagles sure ARENT a rivalry...only one of the biggest in ALL of sports...learn just a little bit about football before you give your 2 sense about something that just makes you look even dumber, if thats possible...have fun throwing on the Eagles this year...LOL..or running for that matter...hahah

its just u guys view it like redsox and yankees and its not...trust me I have hate for the eagles more than any professional franchise in any sport but thats not how most cowboy fans feel...to them its the skins that they hate the most

I have to agree that this is a much more heated rivalry to Philadelphia fans than it is to Dallas fans. That doesn't mean that it isn't a rivalry game. It may be the third best rivalry in the sport behind Dallas Washington and Greenbay Chicago.

i agree. Back in the 90's. most philly fans viewed us as the under dog, trying to take down America's team. And now that the Eagles have come on and started winning, it's only fueled it.

Cowboys vs Eagles is the biggest rivalry in the NFL period..Oh, and Jared..you may want to use spell check or something before you talk about anyone else being dumb. Ex: its not " two sense", it would be: two cents..Just looking out for you!

I have to agree with Love4DaStar. To be a rivalry the hatred has to go both ways equally. Now as an Eagle fan I understand our hatered foe the Cowboys. But I've been to Dallas and there top rival are the Redskins. I personally think right now our rivals are the Giants. I see the hatred going both ways there. But 1 thing I love about this division, we have 4 teams who have no love for one another.

I went to dallas a few years ago and they don't have the same passion for hating a philly fans have. In philly we pass down the hate from generation to generation. we tell stories of dalls running up the score during the scab year. we tell stories of how they had the audacity to run the same play twice.(we stopped them) no one talks about losing to the radiers in the '81 in the superbowl, but instead we talk about how we beat the cowboys for the nfc championship. i met a girl the other day and she told me she was a cowboy fan, i asked, "are you local?" she said yes. i said "that's just bad parenting"

No, it was a whole lot worse than spilling beer on me. Let's put it this way. If I would have had a gun, I'd be in a Pennsylvania prison right now......LOL. You don't call my daughter the things those a**holes did and get any respect. I don't mind a little jawing. That is part of it, even here in Dallas, but these jerks just got totally out of control. Anyway, it didn't help foster any great respect for the fans up that way.

Well, I actually got an apology from a few Philly fans for the behavior of these clowns. I guess there are a few good ones up there. YOu shouldn't have to go to any sports event and put up with that crap, especially if you are not causing a problem yourself. And they call us classless.

Its been a DECADE sense the cowboys even won a playoff game....I can never remember not hating the cowboys. maybe its jealousy because the eagles cant pop da cherry but i didnt like kevin kolb at first because he grew up a cowboy fan. tell me thats not PURE HATRED,lol.

Honestly since we beat Dallas every year its gottin pretty borin so I cant really call it a rivalry anymore,but Eagles Vs giants sounds like a new birth to the NFC east rivalrys.

thats a shame ebliterate. every time i see that star or hear the word dallas, even patrick duffy's greatest accomplishment prior to step by step, my blood pressure shoots up a bit. like any good fight even if we do have a good track record for several years you cant ease up. beat them down even more.

last 10 games: philly 6 dallas 4...nothin dominant or boring about that...and there is no such thing as the birth of a new rivalry in the nfc east b/c all the teams hate each other
