Sadly, this isn't much of a surprise, but it sounds as if the Eagles will once again be without former Pro Bowler Shawn Andrews this season. The Eagles beat tweeters are all reporting that Andrews will be placed on the IR. Since he went down in week 2 of last year, we've seen very little reason to think he was 100% healthy at any time, yet it was anticipated by the team that the Big Kid would play this season, if not in week 1.
After missing the first game, Andrews has been placed on the IR, ending his season. His roster spot will be used to add Jeff Garcia. Many Birds fans were hoping that Winston Justice's solid performance against the Panthers would help to motivate Andrews to get back on the field, but now it seems we should probably just give up hope and maybe be pleasantly surprised if his career resumes at all. I'm certainly not betting on it. Shame to see such a talented Eagle's career just fall apart. Hopefully Andrews, who as we all know has had a terrible doubt with depression, handles the news OK.

Yeah, he was suicidal.
The Eagles bring in his college teammate (Jason Peters), his brother (Stacy Andrews) just to make him more "mentally stable."
Apparently that didn't work.
It's obviously evident that he doesn't want to play football anymore. That's why the Eagles placed him on the IR for the season. Andrews' press conference was all about thanking Reid for his time here. As in HE'S DONE!
But it's pretty clear that he just doesn't want to play.
