Cal's DeSean Jackson, laughing at Marshawn

Last night EA Sports held its NCAA Football '09 release party. Each competing console features a different player on the cover, and Cal's DeSean Jackson got "stuck" with being on the cover of PS2, which I put in quotes because, even though PS2 sounds second-rate, it's head and shoulders above your video-game-cover achievements. Unless you happen to be Sonic the Hedgehog. That dude was money.

When I heard DeSean was at the party, I tracked him down, whipped out my phone, and pulled up the Yard on my mobile browser. I wanted to show him Marshawn Lynch's Yardbarker blog post from yesterday, in which Lynch said, and I quote the Beast: "last year n da draft it was ma turn...dis year i got 2 cuzins cummin to join me ....(Head) josh johnson best QB n da draft and (jizzle) rob jordan best WR n da draft..."

Marshawn's former teammate DeSean may not be the best wide receiver in the Draft. Maybe it's Early Doucet (LSU) or Devin Thomas (Michigan State) or Malcolm Kelly (Oklahoma). Personally I think it's Michigan's Mario Manningham. But I do know this much: It's definitely not Rob Jordan, who frankly might not even get drafted. Marshawn's just being a homer. Jordan's his cousin.

DeSean read the post, shook his head and laughed. "That's Marshawn."
