The Cowboys certainly did not shy away from Denver cornerback Champ Bailey regadless of the receiver lined up on the Pro Bowler. "I welcome it," Bailey said. "Please do. That's the only way I get a chance to make plays." The Cowboys went to Sam Hurd on their final two pass attempts with Sam Hurd as Roy Williams was out after taking a big hit earlier in the fourth quarter. Bailey always plays inside leverage, but both times Hurd was able to cross Bailey's face but he was able to break up both throws. Some might say he interfered with Hurd at least once but it's hard to expect to get a call like that late in a game. "They could have challenged anybody at that point but [Tony Romo] chose to challenge the single-recfeiver side - Hurd on Champ - and I'm thankful that he did," Denver coach Josh McDaniels said.

Game Balls: Week 5

Broncos 17, Cowboys 10. Game ball time, BT Staff, who ya got?! The general opinion among Broncos fans regarding Champ Bailey had shifted. He had “lost a step.” He was “getting up there in years.” He “wasn’t the same.” I know I’ve been guilty of saying such things during game time [...]

Tough lesson for Hurd

After spending the night replaying his routes, Sam Hurd was asked if he could have done anything differently to beat Champ Bailey. Hurd managed to cross Bailey's face on both plays, but the eight-time Pro Bowler gained inside leverage for the breakups. Broncos Beat Cowboys To Go 4-0

Roy Williams aching

Roy Williams took a big shot from Denver linebacker D.J. Williams throw in the fourth quarter and while he was able to return for the next series, he didn't last long. "Never in my life have I been hit like that from Pop Warner through my six years in the league," Williams...

Daily Links – Doubters out of excuses

Doubters don’t have a lot to go on anymore, but the Broncos welcome them anyway.  [Denver Post] The defense made it so the offense needed just one big play.  [DPO] David Ramey waxes poetic on that big play, Brandon Marshall’s touchdown catch.  [Colorado Springs Gazette] It’s all good in Broncoland.  [FanHouse] Champ Bailey credits the defense’s preparation...

AJ Green is Terrific, Yes, But the Best Player at UGA since Herschel Walker?

AJ Green: The masses are still agog over this sick catch by Green late in the 4th quarter against LSU. The knee-jerk reaction is laughable: “A.J. Green is the greatest Bulldog since Herschel. He’s better than David Pollack, better than Garrison Hearst and Eric Zeier, better than Champ Bailey. More than simply the best receiver [...]
