One of the best catches I have ever seen. Won them a Super Bowl. Altered history.

I couldnt agree more, but Eli's scramble made that play happen. In a regular season game Mike Carey would have called him down. I thought that was the best officiated game of the year. They let them play and were a non factor all game. Minus the one challenge by Belichick.

Agreed on all points. Eli's determination was the first "holy crap" moment of the play, the catch was the cherry on top.

The most amazing play in Super Bowl History

Get used to seeing that Manning scramble and Tyree catch. NFL Films will make that an iconic moment for generations to come. Too bad John Facenda is no longer alive to narrate.

I didn't realize that he died.

That's ok. He only died about twenty-three years ago. ;)

His "Autumn Wind" narration of the Raiders was classic. The voice of God.

Now I know who you are talking about. I was thinking of todays voice over.

That will go down as one of the greatest catches in Super Bowl history, if not THE greatest.

As far as the acrobatics of the catch, I put it right behind Lynn Swann's catch against Dallas. John Taylor's catch from Joe Montana, though not nearly as impressive, was a classic moment, too.

I'm sorry but that catch was by far better than Swann's catch or even the Immaculate Reception

My team was the victim of that Swann catch back in the 70's, but the one last night was totally awesome. I am still trying to figure out how he held onto that damn ball. Did Jack Tatum loan him a jar of stickem?

No it was George Brett with the pine tar

Oh, the pine tar? I knew it had to be one of those guys.
      • You'll never see a more beautiful catch than Swann's in SB X. Tyree's was more important keeping the Giants winning drive alive, but nowhere near the artistry of what Swann did back then.

anybody else heard how crazy the arena got when Eli shuffled out of the sack? man that was crazy.
  • Eli - nice scrambling but a horrible decision to throw it. He is lucky that passed wasn't picked. David Tyree bailed Eli out there with one of the best catches I have ever seen. I am not trying to take anything away from David, but the gloves these receviers wear now-a-days are super sticky.
Tyree should have been the MVP. Eli played decent, but on several passes, the wide receivers made the plays.
I am glad the Giants beat those conceded cheating Pats. Finally nice to see someone get Brady

that catch was great, also is a syracuse alum, so that makes it all the better.

This is up there with The Catch and the Immaculate Reception.
