Absolutely, I am getting disgusted with people who go out and say that not winning a championship does not diminish your legacy of a player. Um ya it does. What's the goal of a football season again? Make the Probowl right? No how about holding up that shiny football on a pole at the end of the year.

The point of a season is to win a ring, but that is a team thing. The best players don't always win championships. You can't win a ring all by yourself in any major American sports. It takes a team. It is unfair to say that a persons career was a failure because his GM wouldn't go after what was best for his teams performance and he went after what was best for his wallet. You judge teams by rings, and individuals by stats and awards.

Yes it does. That is what they (we) all strive for. If you get it, it can never be taken away. Marino was great, but Big Ben is already better.

I hope you were being sarcastic when you said Rothlisberger is better than Marino. Every player strives for a ring, Manning strives for a ring, Brady strives for a ring, everyone does. It takes a team to do it. Especially in football, it takes 11, not 1. Rothlisberger wasn't even the best player on his side of the ball. And why are QB's judged on rings but it seems like no one else is. Everyone says Ben won a ring for the Steelers but he sucks. e wasn't even a top 10 player on his own team, yet he gets all the glory. The Steelers D won a ring for them. When will you people learn?
I will use Manning as an example. It is not Peyton's fault his D has sucked throughout his career. Or that his o-line couldn't handle Pittsburghs blitzes last year. The best players don't always win championships. If that was so, LT would have a ring this year and Manning would have 2,3, or 4.

See your completely wrong on Manning, all of his playoff losses he played terribly. He hasn't had one single very good to great game in all of their losses. In Peyton's playoff losses his defense gave up more than 24 points only once, and that was a 41-0 shutout loss to the Jets, so the extra points didn't matter much there. Peyton has performed miserably in the playoffs, not his defense. Never has Peyton lead his team to more than 20+ in a loss. He plays like garbage in the postseason not the defense. If Peyton played like Brady in the playoffs the Colts would have won a championship already, don't pin it on the defense.

Just look at his statlines: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/MannPe00.htm

Now Big Ben better than Marino, is a bit ludicrous.
