"Fan"tasy Versus Reality

Anyone on here ever get the feeling that all to often fanatics use the term "we" or even "our/my team". Let me pose a question to the sports fan nation: Do you really think that you have anything to do with your favorite team winning or losing a game? And, are you as quick to use the collective terms when "your" team loses a bad game or series for example the yanks losing to the to sox in the historic comeback sweep? I'm a yanks fan so I see it fitting to use a team near and dear to my heart to point out that I have no bias. I understand my role as the fan. The role of cheering and indulging in others success completely separate from mine own. I understand that when you root for something or someone that when they succeed, you can feel prideful for them. But please, don't sit there and even try to lay claim to having any part of a team or a players success when you more likely than not almost guaranteed 99.9% of the time will shut your completely worthless hole upon such beloved player/franchises failure.
