Goodell To Fine Teams For Player Misconduct!!!!!!

The NFL put more teeth in its personal conduct policy on Tuesday when commissioner Roger Goodell announced he would fine teams whose players were suspended for disciplinary reasons.

"We want to continue to emphasize personal conduct and personal responsibility," he said at the end of a one-day league meeting. "One way to do it is to hold teams responsible for the conduct of their players.

Intersting, indeed!!!!! well sorry, but it's ABOUT TIME !!!!!!! NICE read gunna!!!

FINALLY.

LOL! yup indeed!!!!

it only took what to get to this ha good one gunna

Tough choice, but it was the right one. Now let's just see if it actually works as a deterrant. Most of the bottom feeders don't mess up now because they know they'll be cut. It is the top half of the pool that thinks they are invincible. (There is some pretty good anecdotal evidence of that already) We'll just have to see what happens with the salary cap. That is the biggest reason the top players get so many chances. It would bury a team to cut a player in his first season or two of a big deal.

I hear you. On the other hand, teams should not have to be mom and dad and needing to raise these people like children. Just do like any other business would do and fire them. It needs to be in their contracts that if they go out and get in trouble and get convicted (key word), then that's it. I don't think it's fair to fine teams for a grown man's transgressions. Just a thought.

Nice rule in theory, but in practice... I'm not so sure. Teams really have very little control over, or interaction with, their players off the field. If it works, genius. But I'm thinking with the lack of team loyalty pervading sports these days, it might be one of those things that ends up being better on paper.

ck left a note on one of her blogs to see this one all i can say gunna is it is about time
