Jake Long's dad spent 30 years working for General Motors, but the first thing Jake is going to buy with his new contract is a Ford truck. That's cold. With $30 million in the bank, he should at least buy a GMC and let it sit in the driveway. Just to appease the old man. When I suggested that to Jake last night, he said that he would think about it, but that in the meantime he's definitely buying an F-250. Why not an F-650? That's how the ballers roll, and the big boy from Lapeer, Michigan definitely strikes me as a baller.

NFL: Best Offensive Lineman Of All-Time
With the first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft the Miami Dolphins selects Jake Long, offensive lineman out of the University of Michigan. Obviously the men upfront are important and they get left out of most conversations about the best players in NFL history.

Who Will The Rams Draft?
The solid choice here is Jake Long, however I really think with the signing of Jacob Bell and a ton of bodies coming back from injuries the Rams may get aggressive and take Vernon Gholston. If Chris Long is still available this will be a very tough pick. The Rams need to help out their defense which ...

Paying The Price: The NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement
In March 2006, NFL Owners voted almost unanimously, 30-2, to accept the NFLPA's final proposal to extend its collective bargaining agreement (CBA). On May 20, 2008, NFL Owners unanimously voted to opt of that same agreement, meaning the current collective bargaining agreement will expire in 2011 instead of 2013. Now, many questions linger about the future of the league and what...

Yesterday the rush of adrenaline, the pressure of training camp, and the level of contact rolled to a head when Jake Long pancaked fellow rookie Phillip Merling. Merling, who just saw Long get the better of him a play or so earlier, took offense and came up swinging. Round 1 goes to Long.
