The new and improved Cowboys special teams units weren't so improved in the preseason opener. Sam Hurd was called for holding on the opening kickoff, giving the Cowboys terrible field position to start the game. Nick Folk missed a 36-yard field goal. Willie Reid muffed a punt, giving the Raiders the ball deep in Dallas territory.
