Kearse And Howard Trade Package

Jevon Kearse and Darren Howard combined for alot of salary and practicly no production in 2006 and 2007. I would be happy if the 2 combined for a 5 round pick in 2008. There are plenty of teams that are thin on the defensive line and could use 2 veteran's. I suspect Miami and Tampa Bay could potentially have some interest in this package, Aswell as possibly Tennesse. This move would create the salary cap room needed to go after Asante Samuel and other free agents. Alot of people have suggested cutting the 2 but it's not always that easy due to the salary cap. I would also like to see the Eagles get something back for all that they have invested in these 2 players. As far as the void left on the D line, I have no doubt that a rookie can match the production of Keare and Howard for 1/8 the price.

All for it. I think I could match Howards production. I would take the risk of less vets on the line if we have Samuels back there wi th Dawk, etc. Gotta play the young guys, they're hungry.

Listen, nobody wants these two in a trade package. Its no secret they STINK!! Why would a team give us a 7th round pick for two past their prime DE's, when they could sign them for less money once they are released...

Will Darrne howard hasn't lived to his potential since he was signed. When Kearse was signed in O4' I wasn't in love with it! Why not? If you remember Keasr was injury prone in his early days with the Titans. The Eagles overpaid his ass and they should of gave that money to T.O. INSTEAD! The Eagles need to corner the market and even make a bigger SPLASH than they did in 04'! I don'tthink the window is closed as of yet. The can go out and make one last run at the SUPER BOWL! IF THEY have the BRASS BALLS to do it!

Darren Howard and Mcdougle need to go. Although Kearse is expensive, we have to give him another chance. He was off to such an amazing start finally in '06 before he got injured, and he started off really good in '07 but his knee wasn't completely healed. This year should be his year to break out after his injury. We aren't in trouble with the money, but what we can try doing is asking him to restructure his deal and let him offer us a "hometown" discount type of thing.

Darren Howard I think may be able to get us a mid round pick, but probably not. As for Mcdougle, he could never live up to be the player we wanted him to, and we just need to know when to let that dead weight go.

I HOPE THEY GET TRADE IT THANK GOD ........probably THEY DONT WANT 2 PLAY 4 THE EAGLES ANYMORE MAYBE THEY WILL FIT BETTER WITH ANOTHER TEAM THEY STILL GOT SOMETHING IN THEM

I agree with you xxxPHIxxx. I don't want them either. Last year in the off season Jevon Kearse lost too much damn weight rehabbing his injury. He looked like a sting bean for christ sake! He looked like a long-distance runner goin in to training camp. And he's supposed to take on 300 lb line men. Are you kidding? And then as the season went on he never made any kind of impact. He was even benched for a couple games. Howard hasn't done anything either - total waste. The front office spent sooooooo much money between the 2 of them - and they were both nothin but a disaster. Why can't we just cut them? Think of all the money it will save us. Money we could use to get another DE, WR, DB. I say we just cut 'em!!!!!

Kearse and Howard should both be gone next year. Both are past their prime. I dont care if we have to cut them it saves money in the end. Nobody is going to want Kearse, especially after the Eagles didnt even suit him up two games during the regular season, even though he was healthy. I'd be surpised if anyone gave up anything for them

DARREN HOWARD O.K. THE FREAK COME ON U GOTTA BE KIDDING HIS FIRST YEAR WITH US WAS PRODUCTIVE LAST YEAR COMING OFF MAJOR SURGERY WATCH IF WE KEEP THE FREAK HE WILL SEEK 10 OR MORE SACKS!!!!!

to miami? not gunna happen dude miami wants to clear salary space and isnt interested in the old washups

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! KEEP KEARSE... give him on emore year... like McNabb he is still recovering from a sevre knee injury that had to be drain 2 or 3 times this year... he'll be healthy and strong for us next year... but ya get rid of Howard... never liked the guy

these 2 knuckleheads are the bookends of underachievement!!!! the team will take an initial hit of 4 million dollars at first but they'll free up some 11 million in cap space that will come next year!!! it seems like this team always seems to find a soft spot for banged up has beens and refuses to part ways with them!!! i never liked kearse when he was with the titans!!! darren howard hasn't been good since his first 2 seasons!!! so of course we'll pick em up and overpay them then pray and wait to see what happens!! it's sickening!!! we have some young good talent on the line!! give'em a chance to show what they can do!!! pick up peppers he's a good de with a good injury history!!!! mc doo doo is another one to throw on the trash heap!!! typical andy reid pick!!! we aren't gonna get anything for them so we may as well take the L!!!!no team will have them!!! remember no matter how much you shine up a piece of shit you re only left with a clean tird!!!!! but expect these clowns to be here this upcoming season!!!

why not just cut them? combining them THEN finding a suitor is a lot of work. it is not a one way street, a team must want them and the salary.

Jevon Kearse was coming off the same injury as Donovan. But here's the difference, and brutal truth as a DE- you need EXPLOSION on every play. While a QB and change his game to "get-by" while recovering from an ACL tear, and work the pocket more, a DE has no way of doing this. Especially one that made his name sacking the QB and making OT's look slow and weak. I dont think Jevon is going anywhere. I think the front office knows exactly what I just said. They know that injury takes a full season to reover from, and there's a good chance that a raw talent like the Freak can come back and have a re-birth type of season. The "Comeback" player of the year award exists for stories just like this. I hate how fast fans give up on a player, and especially one with such a good career in the bag already. They wont let him go unless its for something higher than a 5th RD pick. Where the hell did you get your GM skills?

Howard played well in nickel packages last year down the stretch, but I see them shopping him much more than Jevon.

They both had there chance it's time to move on period
