Pretty sorry............. how is it sorry for a safety to go for an interception miss it, and slide on his knees from forward momentum into another player. Whats sorry is watching a video with your eyes closed and then responding how horrible the scene was that you didnt just watch.
Laron is a beast but that hit had nothing to do with how strong he is or how good he is he wasnt even looking at glenn he was falling down people watch the game and stop complaining.. i think its call SORE LOSER... HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!! RIP#21 GREG WILLIAMS FOR PRESIDENT... I MEAN HEAD COACH!!!
He did it because that's how you play football. The play is legal. If you want to talk dirty, why don't you first look at your boy Roy Williams. Landry didn't even get flagged on the play, and he shouldn't have. There is nothing wrong with this play. NOTHING. The fact that Glenn rehabbed his knee for a year is a moot point. If you want guys to play against you differently because you have injury issues, then don't get on the field, especially not against a team that's hoping to make the playoffs when you ostensibly have nothing to play for.
The Roy Williams thing is over and done. I've gotten over it. Roy Williams is not the only player in the league who has had a play like that this season. I guarantee you that if I was out there and a player was going to run by me for a possible TD, then I will bring his ass down any way I can, fine or not. As many other on here have said.......THAT'S JUST FOOTBALL!!
As much HGH and Cheating there is in the NFL my MLB and safties better lay a few late hits and make people fearful. We don't get a round 1 pick because the patriots cheated and got theirs taken away. We don't get grace periods because rodney harrison used steroids and our saftey didnt.
He slid into him because there was this very cool thing called a football, flying in the the air. And when your on defense and there is a football near you that isn't in the hands of an offensive player, it is your JOB to attempt to catch it.
Yeah, I don't know, that looked like a legal move. But that would suck if Terry had recieved an injury from it. He probably didn't notice the flag, but who knows.
hey Pink, wanted to thank you for something else....alot of "questionable hits" this year...TV makes it difficult to tell on some...don't want to see a guy who worked his butt off rehabbing knee get drilled like that first game back...but, as LB51 says, that's Football
Geeze....just because your team beat a team that had nothing to play for and pulled most of its starters after the half....you are talking a lot of noise. I bet your team doesn't even make it out of Seattle.
Quit your bitching Cowgirl fan. It was a clean hit and a legal hit. If Glenn can't take it, maybe he should put the tampon back in and get back on the bench.
dude, East coaster too, here, these Cowboys are no "Cowgirls"...I'm am so certain they will be in SB playing blank(TBD)...another case of hitting a team when they are elite
LOL.........It's a bitch to be a winner, isn't it? Oh well. Maybe Cowboys make it to a rematch with the Pats. I don't give our team a big chance if they do make it, but there is a lot of football to be played before then. Enjoy the day.
Takes more balls to admit a mistake than to keep defending something that you were wrong about. At least I can admit I made a mistake and so can you. To hell with everyone if they can 't deal with that. Happy New Year.....Hat.
I updated the blog with more info: I won't harp on the questionable hit all week, but it must be discussed a little bit more. The Dallas Morning News reports today that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terry Glenn isn't so sure Washington Redskins safety LaRon Landry (learn how to spell his name Calvin "Tattle-tale" Watkins) was really "going for the ball." In fact, what he says is pretty damming for the Redskins. You can watch the play here.
"It shocked me," Glenn said. "I had no idea that was going to happen. Those guys were out there trying to really take it to my knee. They know if they see us again, they will have problems, especially in Dallas. I think they were trying to hurt me."
Landry was asked about the questionable hit. His snarky reply will cost the Redskins if they make it to the second round. This is starting to irritate the Cowboys, Landry. It's embarrassing that you even carry the same last name as such a legend as Tom Landry.
Punk Landry said to Glenn:
"Then stop playing football. I'm not getting a big head or anything, but if he thought the hits were a little low and this and that, it doesn't matter. It's all part of the game. It's going to be physical."
I think Landry has a guilty conscious and his reply solidifies this thought. But why were the Redskins trying to ruin this guy's career?
Coach Wade Phillips says Landry's hit was not a late hit nor was it dirty. Fine. I will live with Phillips' decision. I won't bring this up again unless it is proven that Landry's hit was on purpose and that the Redskins we're trying to cripple Glenn.
"No, on tape he is going for the ball on the ground and then he slid," Phillips said.
Are you kidding? You don't get to choose where you get his in football! They don't say, "Hey, quartback's coming back from a concussion. Let's be sure not to hit him for fear he hurts his head). And you've got to be kidding about Roy Williams: he may not be the only guy in the league to make dirty plays, but he's the only one to get fined three times and suspended for doing it repeatedly. "Punk Landry"'s comments were exactly right. And if he had wanted to cripple Glenn, Glenn sure as hell wouldn't be walking around right now.
I figured you would chime in on that one. Had to deflect a little bit of the nonsense to someone else. Think I mentioned before that Harrison is an animal, but I'd love to him in my secondary.
Speaking of Rodney Harrison (you guys brought him up, not me), he looked AWFUL Saturday night. He obviously wanted no part of Brandon Jacobs, as his head-down half-ass shoulder block non-tackles indicated. The film from this game should be used to teach Pop Warner players how NOT to tackle. Hey Rodney, you need to wrap up guys like Jacobs, or you're going to be made to look weak. That was bad.
By the way, Harrison must have balls the size of bowling balls to complain about getting hit low. Harrison has made a career of cheap shots, and now he's complaining? If you wanna dance, you have to pay the band. Nobody on an opposing NFL team, and I mean nobody, is going to feel bad for Harrison if someone takes him out. As far as I'm concerned, being cheap is not offensive; being a hypocrite is. Take your medicine, old man.
Thank God the Patriots have the most prolific offense of all time, because the defense, when faced with a quality opponent, is aging. Tedy has been a non-factor almost the entire year, and Harrison is a liability in coverage. Boss, the TE for the Giants, looked all-world, and I didn't know who he was before Shockey went down. The Pats are STILL the team to beat, but it's the offense that's pulling the load this season.
like I said, miss that 04' Defense they had, and Harrison's time is now at curtain-call stage...NE needs new young tough SS as a main priority in offseason...Harrison has run his course with his "certain cheap hits at times" to some up here...good post LB
Not to shoot down your whole argument there, but the Pats did have the 4th ranked defense in the NFL this season and had 47 sacks. They also had one of the two best 3rd down defenses in the league. Yes, their offense is great and was responsible for a lot, but the defensive stats are very good. They have some aging players, but they are still playing at a high level. Besides Harrison getting steamrolled by Jacobs, I'd still take him, especially during a playoff run. Defense probably relaxed at the end of many of those games and gave up easy points or the stats would be even more impressive. Believe me, I'm no Pats fan, but I can't argue with the numbers. They have been a little vulnerable as of late in the season and that may be the age factor of the defense, but they now have 3 weeks to rest before their next game, so that should not be a detriment.
PhuckPhilly, true. But, don't forget, they played the Jets twice, the Dolphins twice, the Bills twice, the Ravens, the Eagles, and the Bengals. That's nine games against teams that struggled offensively this season.
I'm a lot of things, but I pride myself on calling it straight. An Eagles team with a backup QB came into Foxboro this year and looked really good. Eli Manning has been streaky all year, but he looked like his big brother Saturday night. Like I said, the Pats are still the best team in football, but the offense is making things happen. It all evens out, because the defense has carried this team for years. All I'm saying is, this year, they're not an elite defense.
Guess we'll find out in the playoffs. Good points though. They also beat 3 of the current playoff teams on the road. They may crank it up a notch in the playoffs and shut everyone down. Will be fun watching.
whole tournament is stacked with really good teams...c'mon to Gillette, Tennessee!...Is it me or is JAX hype died down?...PITT is gonna beat them...more playoff seasoned team...and I can't see PITT team losing to them at home 2 straight....what's this article about again?...oh yeah, always liked Glenn when he was here...do you guys remember the Parcells 'she comment" about Terry...master motivator, the Tuna...TG came out and tore it up with the Statue of Liberty, a/k/a Drew B. that year...feelin groovy the last few days, ever since they took the goddamn NE scroll section off ESPN toolbar or whatever you call it...was so ridiculous even to fellow NE fans around...still inconclusive(ah, was cheapshot!) about hit, and Glenn is a glasshouse over the years....Football is definitely football, but Landry should know what the guy went through in his first game back for cripes sakes...sound like my Grandfather...LOL as it's friday....great weekend of Football and gonna be grooovy...peace out
top 6 or 7 on Defense: throwing in the stats, turnover ratio, intangibles, etc...true, not like past BBelichek D's, but good enough to compliment Offense in a playoff run...classic "bend but don't break" crew...will be huge test for them, this playoff game we have on the 12th...miss that 04' D...that was the best D I've seen on a NE team
I think Pittsburgh will be very stoked up for that game. Jax is favored, but Pitt still has enough muscle to get it done. Not sure Glenn is going to be back full speed, but who knows.......he may come out and stretch the defenses. If he and T.O. are in there along with Witten, it could get very interesting in the divisional game. Got to get back to the running game though. It's sucking air right now.
like Barber alot, don't like Julius...I still think DAL healing with the 2 weeks...I wouldn't be too concerned...deep down in your soul, who in NFC, will truly take them?...not Bret "Dill_Picke Favre" GB...two games and in...that's my main prediction so far...and not just me, but most up here...media too...you really think Seattle will come to Irving and win...nah
O......Seattle won't be here, I dont' think. If Washington loses, I think we get the winner of the T.B./NY game. Might rather play either one of those than Washington at this point. Skins are on a roll and if they win in Seattle, they will be a legitimate threat. Not worred about Favre, but he has been known to get on a hot streak. If they can run the ball, he'll be more effective. If all he can do is stand back there and try to throw without a running game, the D-line will tee off on him like last time. Kind of wish we had Seattle down here so we could finally beat them and put that Romo crap to bed.
just a weird play all that was....a fluke...a thousand other plays over the years just like it...and Romo will never live that up...unless DAL takes it to the house....bottom line with that media villification
not 100% sure myself on all scenarios in NFC, some depending on outcomes...I am so AFC focused right now...my bad...don't keep hyping the skins, I have nothing against them( great finish to REG. season), but talent and A games emerge now...DAL vs. blank...how can you not know that...most talented team in conference by a good chunk
I think Indy gets the highest seeded AFC playoff team coming out of this weekend and N.E. will get the other one. I'm sure Dallas has a few plays in their arsenal that teams haven't seen yet, as well as N.E. and everyone else. Should be fun. I'll definitely be watching today along with your Celts game. Good sports evening. Love this time of year. You got football, basketball and hockey going. Not that big of a hockey fan, but like to watch it sometime.
