Fitzgerald
Though Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald wants to stay in Arizona, he told WIP radio on Wednesday that the Philadelphia Eagles are one of teams which he'd be happy to play, if he is traded. When asked, Fitzgerald when so far as to compliment the pieces in place praising McNabb, Westbrook and the offensive line as being a fully capable offense to make a Super Bowl run with. It remains to be seen whether the Cardinals will try to trade Fitzgerald. Due to escalators in his contract, he&...

I think he's a perfect fit for the Eagles
    • llhhaammii
he would be a great compliment to the offense. he's not the homerun threat of chad johnson but he's still high quality and reliable...not to his redzone ability may be better than chad johnson because he's a bigger target.
      • I'd love to see him here too but I don't think Banner would bring in a receiver that makes more money than his q-back. He'd be great here for this offense but his salary might be too much.
  • Poohbah
Would love to see him in Philly.
  • I'd love to see both Chad and Fitzgerald, but i'll settle for either one
    • or Stallworth or Roy Williams if he's available.

Being a Phillies fan has nothing to do with it. I am an Eagles fan, and I know that the Eagles will not go out and get a big-name reciever because of what happened last time with TO.
        • llhhaammii
your pessimism is indicative of a phillies fan...
  • I would like to see any us sign or trade (not draft) for any receive better than what we already have. That way we can move Curtis back to the slot. Then all of the sudden Avant and Brown look that much better. Whether its Fitzgerald, Stallworth, CJ - we need to upgrade that position and give McNabb more options. Now that McNabb, Westbrook, and Runyan have all spoken out, about getting more help, Banner's gotta do something. If Banner does nothing, it will be a terrible PR move AND the players will feel slighted and not want to play here anymore. With the growth of our young defense, if we can maybe get another "pass rusher" and another "wide revceiver" via trade or free agency(obviously safety, corner punt returner are very importnat) I think 2008 will be really exciting!!!!

stallworth is my dark horse...he and mcnabb had great chemistry. the reason the eagles (i believe) didn't bring him back is because he was injury plagued and garcia were never really on the same page so his production dropped off when mcnabb got hurt.

i'm tried of arguing that stallworth and mcnabb were phenomenal!! number 5 and number 18 made eagles fan say "t.o. who??" they were dynamic together and reggie brown and baskett were having breakout seasons as well as a result. stallworth, curtis, brown...have avant as a slot (he is strong and runs excellent routes not to mention he has great hands) baskett as a situational threat and you now have an explosive and cohesive unit. (mcnabb is familiar with all of them)

add a healthy l.j smith and westbrook to the equation and the eagles have the most potent offense in the league. not to mention it will take pressure off westbrook in the passing game and will spread defenses allowing him to decimate defenses on the ground!
      • Yeah. Good stuff. Its scary to think of us having Stallworth, Curtis and McNabb and Westbrook on the same offense!!! I would love to see Stallworth here, but I'm concerned about his agent, Rosenhaus. He's also TO's agent and was Hugh Douglas' agent. I seem to remember the Eagles asking both Douglas and Stallworth to see them once more BEFORE they signed with Jaguars/Pats so they could match whatever the offer was. And Rosenhaus basically "stiffed" the Eagles and we never heard back. So I think there might be some bad blood with the Eagles and Rosenhaus. It woud be nice though if they could work something out to bring Stallworth back to Philly.
        • llhhaammii
rosenhaus is fine, he's a snake, but he is also a smart businessman. he represents a few other eagles...
to be fair, the eagles offered stallworth a ridiculous, slap in the face deal. their logic was he was injury prone. their offer was largely based off the fact that he wasn't that impressive with garcia. he and garcia never really got on the same page.
stallworth decided to go to new england for way less money to prove he was worth a decent contract.
  • Fitz would be great for Philly. I live in AZ and I am a Eagles Zealot!!!!!!! Fitz would make huge plays!!!!! here's another option.......Fitzgerald, Stallworth, and Curtis..........if i had to pick one WR it would be Fitz.......he is wasted talent with the Cardnals.........HEY ANDY......take care of business and the fans! bring us the trophy baby!

Be a lil optimistic before we do our seasonal offseason bashing of Lurie and co. i think enough players (Donovan, B-west, Jon Runyan, Dawk) have come out and said this team needs more playmakers and when 4 of the top players in your franchise open up you better listen up.........Personally in this WR sweepstakes the guy I'd love is Fitz hes young and upcomming he'd fit very nicely here as would Chad Johnson in Eagle Green whoever it is... They need to go after those guys strong!!!!!
    • Absolutely!!!!! Maybe Banner will finally give-in to some of this pressure from his top-shelf veterans - all the blood, sweat and tears these guys have shedded for this organiztion?!?!?! Hey, Banner - "time to open up the checkbook"
  • 2009 SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!!!!!!! With the addition of FITZ!!!

Don't hold your breath. I say take DeSean Jackson or Limus Sweed with the 19th pick. If they want to draft defense, then take Calais Campbell, Aqib Talib; then take Adarius Bowman or Fred Davis in the 2nd.

Geeze!!!!!! And they said Wade Phillips was fat?
  • Yo dude. I don't think its cool to get personal with Reid - talking about his weight AND his family issues. Besides, I think Reid's hands are tied. I think he'd love to bring in some of these WR's we're all talkin about. But I think Banner's control of the spending keeps this team from taking a deep plunge into free agency. I bleed Eagle green and I hate to see other Eagle fans get personal with our coach. Yes, there are some things Big Red does that bother me AND he still has not won us a Super Bowl, but overall I think he has done a good job. And I think he can still bring us a championship if Banner loosens up the wallet a bit.

reid has the final say all in football decisions with the eagles!!! i live and bleed green!!! been a season ticket holder for years!!! i'm furstrated with the stupid press conferences and the viewing of the obvious!!! mc nabb isn't 22 yrs old anymore neither is runyan or dawkins!!! these guys want to win or the chance!!! reid is supoosed to be so offensive minded and throw first team!!! why is that we all can see and not reid that we neeed a big receiver!!! what's he eyeing up the cheesesteak hoagies at tony luke's or the crab fires at chickie's???? yes his household matters do effect his job just like anyone!!! i was watching the nfl replay of sb 39!! the last 3 mins were wasted with waiting for the plays to be called!!! then people wonder why we don't win a bowl and no one wants to stay here!!! banner said in own press conference after the season maybe the talent on the team was overestimated!!! but he has no say on what talent should be signed!!! he just writes the checks and told who to write them too!!! we need l.j. back we need to find an understudy to dawkins and the o-line!!! most of all a receiver!!! makes me sick seeing gaffney and stallworth winning and we had them but fat boy letim' go!!! hey chubby if you can look up from your menu for a minute your franchise players aren't getting any younger they want to win!!! make a play for fitz and it's not gonna kill us to give away number one pick for once it's not like you're gonna pick someone good with it!!! you know what your getting with fitz!!!
    salary cap: 109 million dollars
    cheesesteaks : 6 dollars
    season tickets: 2300 dollars
    a bag crack: 10 dollars
    a gun: 400 dollars
    fitz & lombardi trophy: priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
