Looks like Dallass is back. Circa 1980s-90s, anyway.

Irvin, Lett, Harvey Martin, Bob Hayes, "Hollywood" Henderson, and now Hambrick.

No wonder these fools loved gameday, what with all those white lines on the field.

At least Nate Newton was different, all he saw was grass.

Thomas Henderson played in the seventies and Bob Hayes played in the sixties and seventies. It is always better when you don't make such silly mistakes when you are ripping the greatest franchise in sports. It is good to know that five years after we cut him for these type of issues Troy Hambrick got arrested. What exactly does that have to do with the Cowboys being back? I assumed you meant that we filled all of our weak points in the draft or through the signing of other veterans via trade or free agancy. Would you explain the connection for me?

whoopie-dang-doo.
I was just stating that there were more cokeheads & punks calling themselves dallass cowboys, at the same time, in the 80s & 90s.
Everytime you looked up from the the sports page back then, there was another one doing the prep walk. And then there were the questions about what went in the "white house" down there.
Blow and Ho's? Very classy.

Maybe after they romo & crybaby tank another postseason, they can all get together and pass the powdered mirror around the ring of "honor".

By the way, I gave Lett some credit for changing the vibe and trying to move some weed instead. But at least Patterson didn't get caught for the same violation twice in a month. But hey, whatever's cool with ya'll.

Nice critique. Maybe your team needs some coke and hoes so they can figure out how to win a damn Super Bowl. And, like I said, you guys hate for us to bring up the past (Super Bowls and all), but you guys dive right in when you see fit. Enjoy another season from the outside looking in.

You must be joking. Just the other day I listed twice as many Eagles players with drug charges since 2000. Sure our franchise makes more headlines than yours does but that doesn't excuse irresponsible accusations. You came up with seven players covering five decades. I can list that many since 2000 from your franchise that have faced drug charges. So what. What does that prove? If you are interested in drug infested franchises you should do a little research. I mean what exactly was the point again, oh yes, you were looking for a way to trash the Cowboys. Too bad you made yourself look like an idiot trying.

Like someone(Eagles fan) told me a few days ago, those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

name 'em. i did my research.
Whatever names you come up with, i'll call them fools just as well. Facts are facts.

Nobody hates dallass cause of the super bowls (except buffalo, maybe).
Everybody hates them & the fans cause of the texas-sized ego tripping, "america's team" (hate the braves for that one, too), the hole in the roof of the stadium so "god, can watch the game", etc.
The Yankees have had their probelms too (Howe, Gooden, Strawberry), but at least they run a classy organization, and don't beat you over the head with their success.
The Steelers & 49ers also have 5 championships each, and people have nothing but good vibes toward them.

Just so I understand this, you are willing to call the Eagles' players idiots, but you call the Cowboys franchise out for their FORMER players actions? You are the idiot. You illustrate my point every time you speak. You have an axe to grind and no facts will sway you on this. I will not waste my time trying.

Well, it's not the fans that gave the team the America's team moniker. I darn sure didn't do it. But, if the shoe fits, then wear it, I guess. And, if you think everyone loves the 49'ers and Steelers, what world are you living in? Everyone just hates winners and multiple Super Bowl winners. It's piling up on N.E. now. I see the constant hammering those fans have to take because they have one a few Super Bowls now. Just goes with the territory. You can always tell how good a team is doing in the NFL by the number of haters in the crowd.

Very true, fiverings. If I cared about this mope's opinion, or thought he would listen I would have him ask the Ravens or Browns fans how much they love the Steelers. Sure now the 49ers are liked but back in the eighties and nineties you couldn't wave to a crowd in any city accross this country without waving to a fan and a hater. Even in their own home town they didn't own the love. Your point on the Patriots was spot on. He will never get it but, trust me, you are exactly right.

less people would hate the patriots if they won the superbowls fair and square...

I'm not a fan of either team but are you telling me that the cowboys are a better franchise than the new york yankees. I despise the cowboys and the yankees but the yankees are clearly a superior franchise with their storied history. they've won 26 world series titles and are the home of some of the greatest and most well known athletes in the history of american sports. The cowboys have won 5 super bowls but the minnesota vikings single handedly won three of them for them with that dreadful herschel walker trade.

The Cowboys happen to the the most expensive sports franchise in the world today. Go look it up. Minnesota didn't win anything for us. Still have to go on the field and play the game. Yes, the Yanks have a longer history and storied franchise, but as far as pure worth, guess who leads now?

actually I beleive that privelage belongs to manchester united. And no one was talking about how much a franchise is worth. they merely said best franchise and I believe that title should go to a team with a history of consisency in winning. Also there are more yankees fans than any other fan in the US. I'm sure you'll disagree with me there but i'm willing to agree that we disagree.

The Trade

Minnesota Vikings Received:

* RB Herschel Walker
* Dallas's 3rd round pick - 1990 (54) (Mike Jones)
* San Diego's 5th round pick - 1990 (116) (Reggie Thornton)
* Dallas's 10th round pick - 1990 (249) (Pat Newman)
* Dallas's 3rd round pick - 1991 (68) (Jake Reed)

Dallas Cowboys Received:

* LB Jesse Solomon
* LB David Howard
* CB Issiac Holt
* RB Darrin Nelson (traded to San Diego after he refused to report to Dallas)
* DE Alex Stewart
* Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1990 (21) They traded this pick along with pick(81)for pick(17)from Pittsburgh to draft (Emmitt Smith)
* Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1990 (47) (Alexander Wright)
* Minnesota's 6th round pick in 1990 (158) (traded to New Orleans, who drafted James Williams)
* Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (11) (Pat Harlow)
* Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (38) (Darryll Lewis)
* Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (37) (Darren Woodson)
* Minnesota's 3rd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (71) (traded to New England, who drafted Kevin Turner)
* Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1993 (conditional) - (13) (traded to Philadelphia Eagles, and then to the Houston Oilers, who drafted Brad Hopkins)

Manchester United does not lead anymore. Go look it up. I already have or I wouldn't be saying it.

And, the trade was a good one, but you still have to have the players, coaching and execution. I can't blame my own team for having a good trade. It's not going to change anything.

after reading my own post i felt that I should clarify my own intentions. cowboyswin08 claimed that the cowboys are the greatest franchise in all of sports and i was disagreeing. After reading what I wrote I realized that I did not direct my comment accordingly

The yankees have decades of history before we were around at all. The Yankees had 18 world championships before the Cowboys were a franchise at all. That means they have 8 championships to the five of Dallas. Not nearly the blowout you tried to make it appear. Both franchises are on the top of their respective sports with Dallas being the more popular one. Do you think that the Cowboys don't have some of the most recognizable names in all of sports history? Roger Starbach? Ed "too tall" Jones? Tony Dorsett? Emmitt Smith? Troy Aikman?

As to your comment that Minnesota won three of them you are just nuts. Minnesota never once took the field and won a game for Dallas. Herschel Walker was one of the top runningbacks in all of football when he played for the Cowboys. Even if you say they grossly overpaid Dallas made the correct draft choices and cut the right veterans to make the roster that they coached and played to three championships. The Vikings had no hand in that whatsoever.

Oh, here ya go, in case there was any doubt.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20763666/

The Yankees all time record is 9349-7144. That gives them a .764 winning percentage. The Cowboys are 401-299 or .746. If you cover both franchises over the time that Dallas has been in existence you will see that Dallas has a much better winning percentage. I have not done the math on that but it is hugely in favor of the Cowboys.

I noticed that you left the salary cap out of the equation as well. How well do you think Dallas would fare if they could just buy the best available free agents? I think we both know the answer there, since it was the mismanagement of the salary cap that burried us in the late nineties and early 2000's.

one more quick note, the Cowboys are the most popular franchise right now. That one goes back and forth but right now Cowboys fans outnumber the Yankees fans. In fact, often neither team is on top. That is a record that is just too close to cite as defense for anything since about six francises trade places every year.

sorry... but, cowboyswin08... did you just say roger starbach?

It's funny how nobody ever wants us Cowboy fans to bring up the past, but anytime other teams' fans see a chance to do it , they pounce on it with a vengeance. Funny!!!

Especially when Mike Patterson was so recent. At least we got three Lombardi trophys to show for our substance issues. What do you have to show for it?

Oh, but they use the excuse that Patterson was not convicted, but neither was OJ. Of course, with the constant barrage of arrests now on other teams around the league, I guess we are finding out that the Cowboys are not even close to being as bad as some other teams around the league. Look at Cincy. How may have they had on that team in the last couple of years? Newton and Hambrick's NFL careers were over when they got caught, so we can stractch those two.

Most importantly, just look at our post Irvin history. We have cut all of the lawbreakers we've had. Sure we took tank, but he's been no problem and we'll see about Mr. Jones. I have repeatedly said I'll jump on their bandwagon if he screws up and we don't cut him. How many teams in the league would cut their starting quarterback? We did.

LIke I told someone a couple of days ago......name me some Cowboys who have gotten arrested and spent any time in jail in the past 2-3 years while they were Cowboy players. He still hasn't answered me.

As a football fan," How can anyone not be impressed by what the Cowboys accomplished?" They are a great organization with passionate fans and I'm a Pats fan. You give Philly fans a bad name by making up excuses when other teams have success . The Patriots never cheated against you and the Cowboys deserve everything they accomplished. You lost by the better team that day. That doesn't mean your day isn't coming when you can start talking multiple superbowls. I never thought New England would win three superbowls. Give teams respect when they make acomplishments. The Pats were disciplined in the first game of the season and went on to win seventeen in a row. That's incredible. I could care less about records because they lost fair and square to the Giants in the superbowl. I think it's always good to lose a game during the regular season. Give the Giants credit!

well said all the way around. There is still time to come back to the light. Leave the dark side behind. THere is still good in you, I can feel it.

I also feel that there is good in you and that you will see the light someday.. Although I see your hatred for Eagles fans they brought it upon themselves and they deserved your comments. You do have some good in you . I can defintely feel it. Thumbs up!!!

There is a book about Hollywood Henderson which I read and it's a great book. It's titled "Out Of Control' and the life this guy lived is incredible.

Hell, he won the damn lottery down here in TX. Guess he had the last laugh. If I'm not mistaken, he has one two chunks of change in the TX lottery and one was up in the tens of millions. He once came onto our football's teams bus in Langson, OK and told the SOSU team how bad he was going to kick everyone's a**......and he did. Quite a character.

I'm definitely not shocked by anything he has done. I think it was the Grammy's that he went to with one of the Pointer sisters and was out until about 5:00 A.M. I'm not 100% sure of that time but what he did in the Superbowl with the inhaler is just unbelieveable. You've got to read the book.

Fiverings is right on as usual. Go ahead v4victory list the Cowboys that have faced criminal charges while they were Cowboys...recently. We have made changes and do not accept any behavior like that.

That's all I need.

another pointless BS post by an eagle fan...what a shocker...your right on fiverings with the talk about how philly fans hate to hear about our rings b/c their in the past yet they try to bring up this kind of past history...hey V4victory do everyone a favor and go get a LIFE...better yet y don't u just post something about how philly is still gonna land a number 1 reciever...since joe horn is available maybe u can post about that garbage...hell he might even be an upgrade from your mediocre recievers

They only want to deal with the past when it's convenient for THEM. Oh, you Dallas fans always have to bring up the past, don't you? Well, who's bringing it up now?

exactly fiverings

hey what do you mean they? i find this extremely... racist?...no. uhhh...?

Racist? Not sure where you are coming from on that one. You been hanging around with Ricky Williams lately and smoking those mind altering drugs?

Anyone who wants to see something funny should go to www.bangcartoon.com/2007/pacmandallas.htm It fits in with this topic nicely
