Marion Barber said a little rest and a couple of massages did his body good during the bye week and that his strained left quadriceps is "no longer a problem." He even said, "I'm not banged up or anything." Hmmm, I thought he is playing with a fractured thumb? We'll see. Running backs coach Skip Peete said the quadriceps injury is something that would linger for a long time. After sitting out the Carolina game, Barber was not the same runner against Denver and Kansas City. He did not have that same explosion although he did have some effective runs. But I can think of one run against Kansas City where he labored to get down the field when he normally would have looked to run over a defensive back. When healthy, he is the Cowboys' best back. When 80 percent, I'm splitting time with him and Tashard Choice as the every down back and mixing in Felix Jones.

The Inevitable: Marion Barber, Tashard Choice or Felix Jones Won’t Be A Dallas Cowboy For Much Longer

The inevitable will happen. The Dallas Cowboys cannot field and afford three running backs, each who could probably start on at least half of the NFL teams. Tashard Choice and Felix Jones are two years into their careers, while Marion Barber is a NFL veteran. What I don’t want to see happen is the Cowboys lose [...]

Smash, Dash, And Tash: Reunited!

By Drew MagaryThe Cowboys began this season with three healthy and extremely talented running backs. Marion Barber was The Hammer. Felix Jones was the Speed Guy. And Tashard Choice was the Guy Who Does Lots Of Good Stuff But Doesn’t Fit Into One Neat Running Back Genre. That devastating trio was busted up in the home opener against New York, a game in which Dallas ran for 251 yards...

Cowboys Ride into Falcons Game a Banged-up Posse

from Sporting NewsWe've heard plenty about Marion Barber(notes) and Felix Jones(notes) (right), but injuries to those two running backs are just the start of the health issues the Dallas Cowboys face this week as they prepare to meet the Atlanta Falcons.Barber broke a thumb two weeks ago, adding to a thigh injury from a month back. Jones will play with a bum knee. The rest of...

Time for a Quality Win

I'd like to believe the Cowboys have figured a few things out over the last few weeks. They have had two weeks to prepare for a team that is young but very talented. The Cowboys have three wins but they have all come against teams that aren't exactly spectacular. They had a real chance to beat the Giants and the Broncos but they didn't get the job done down the stretch...
