First, let me mention that I happen to really like Matt Cassel. I love his potential. I am well aware that the knock on him is that he often struggles to make his reads in a pro set offense, but I love his work ethic and I love his mechanics, both of which make me believe he will be a very quick study. I also hate that every single supposed expert and analyst railed on him for having targets like Wes Welker and Randy Moss to throw to. I don't remember those same analysts questioning Carson Palmer when he had big league targets like Chad Johnson or T.J. Houshmandzadeh or Big Ben for throwing to Hines Ward and Plaxico Burress. But, like most quarterbacks in the NFL, he needs help. He can't do it alone, especially in his first season as a Chief. Scott Pioli and Matt Cassel are going to quickly learn that Chiefs' fans have zero tolerance for anything short of outstanding play from their players. That is a sad but true point. Trent Green was labelled "TrINT" because he couldn't learn a complex offense quick enough, nevermind that he had a subpar receiving corps to throw to. I also remember fans railing on Kawika Mitchell in his first two seasons and Maurice Leggett and Tyler Thigpen in their first two games (meanwhile, for some reason, players like James Killian, Boomer Grisby, and Bobby Sippio are branded as superstars before they even set foot on the playing field in a real game). Chiefs' fans have unreasonable expectations for their players. That's an understandable but true point. How much patience will they have with Matt Cassel?

this is a stupid post. this qb is going to fail that is the reason this artical is even posted. he was a product of a very very good system. you throw him into a bad team and yu know he will suck. mcnabb played for a bad sucky team and went to the nfc championship game. so if matt castle was that good he can do the same. the chiefs are a rebuilding team if he really is good they build around matt thats how it is. you cant say he is better then a team because if he was really was then he will produce..
