NFC East: Ranking the Running Game

NICE!!!!! i love finding stuff like this, check it out if you are interested!! raises a few questions too that are on point as well!!

peace out,

ck0712!!

The Philadelphia Eagles gained the 4th most yards in franchise history and finished 2007 with a Top-10 defense. The Eagles somehow managed to finish last in the division with an 8-8 record & struggling to score points. The coaching staff is intact and a core of talented players return on both sides of the ball, the Eagles should be back in contention in 2008. The Eagles as a team averaged 123 yards rushing per game which was 8th best in the league.

Philadelphia Eagles

Brian Westbrook 5' 10" 203 lbs. 278 Att. 1,333 Yards 4.8 YPC Avg. 7 TD's

Correll Buckhalter 6' 0" 217 lbs. 62 Att. 313 Yards 5.0 YPC Avg. 4 TD's

Tony Hunt 6' 1" 233 lbs. 10 Att. 16 Yards 1.6 YPC Avg. 1 TD

Ryan Moats 5' 8" 210 lbs. 3rd year player out of Louisiana Tech

Jason Davis 5' 11" 240 lbs. 2nd year player out of Illinois

Donovan McNabb was the Eagles #3 rusher with 50 attempts for 236 yards. Tony Hunt the 3rd round pick from 2007 was used as a short yardage back and special teams player. The Eagle running game is in good shape and the team doesn't have a need to draft a running back. However, the Eagles were pretty pedestrian when when it came to returning kicks & punts. They didn't return a kickoff or punt for a TD. The team is reluctant to hand the job to Brian Westbrook but the longest Non-Westbrook punt return was 32 yards. The longest kick return was 35 yards, with this in mind in my mind the Eagles have a huge need for Return Specialist. The Eagles can select WR/ RS DeSean Jackson or CB/ RS Mike Jenkins in the 1st round and with either player fill two needs.

Easier than standing on 9th & Passyunk and deciding where to have a Cheesesteak Sandwich between Geno's & Pat's King of Steaks.

The question for the Eagles: Is this the draft that the team finds a successor to Brian Dawkins? Will the team draft a WR who has knowledge of the west coast offense & is able to make an immediate impact?

Having McNabb back healthy will be the biggest boost to your team. He wasn't at afull speed for most of the season last year. The running game is not going to go downhill with Westbrook unless the offense line goes south on them. That would be my only worry right now.

agreed big time!!! the oline needs to remember to get on the bus for all the games.never forget that game i was at - the meadowlands-were he took 12 hits....but dayum if he didn't keep getting up & play......i hear ya, we need to keep BWest healthy and give him some downtime on the field, not gonna lie, there were times i felt he was carrying that team-he's an amazing player & an inspiration all around. i don't like to pick faves cuz i think it's a team effort but him & dmac & big john & dawk are among sssshhhhh my faves lol!

also our defense...two good cornerbacks healthy will boost the D (asante and sheldon) just hope they can stay at full health all year

AMEN birdsfan536, faith i guess, we gotta think positive, cuz dammit i wanna ride to tampa lol!!!

Bwest is a beast, and I think Hunt will too if he gets in shape and learns to pick up the blitz. If that happens we will have a good tandem maybe we could bring back the "two headed monster"

mmmmmmmmm nice gunna!!!!! i like the sounds of your thinkin!!! here's to HUNT diggin in !!! as for BWest, u already know where i stand on him.......aces man!!!!
is it pre season yet LOL!

Been some scuttlebutt about people not being impressed with Hunt. Are they going to get someone else?

what cho talkin bout willis? lol

now that i think about it, nothing would surprise me-this whole off season has been a surprise!!!!

Hunt just wasn't giving enough of an opportunity to play in 2007. Since they were coming from behind in a lot of games they were throwing the ball. Plus the Birds hate giving opportunities to rookies for some reason. From everything that I heard is that they actually like Hunt and he's been picking up the offense just fine. He just needs to work on his blocking.

Hunt's skills will be noticed in 2008.

With that being said I wouldn't mind at all if they grabbed Chris Johnson out of East Carolina. Who is supposed to be a poor-man's version of Brian Westbrook. Johnson is slotted to be taken in the 3rd or 4th rounds, which is where the Birds normally look for their Running backs. He's a RB/WR and can return kicks. He could become the next B-west with time and training.

NICE DMcnabb, some good points!!!

I know one thing, you damn sure don't want your QB being one of the leading rushers since he's been injured and over 30 yrs. of age now. He's good at it, but keeping him healthy is damn sure going to get Philly a lot further along.

hey if i answer on your page am i gonna get followed around and thumbed down again lol
sh*t is lame for sure babygurl.
getting to my point about this blog of yours i got nothing but good things to hope for in 08 and 09 and i'm sure we are choppin down to tampa

amen babe, amen!! nope no thumbs down here, stick with who you are comfortable with!!!

Can I ride my bicycle with training wheels along with you folks?

yeah you can you gotta have apes on that tricycle though lol

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
apes & fringes lol

Y'all go on ahead, I'll catch up, eventually.

FIVER LMAO!!!!!!!

LOL u r killen me!!!!!!!!

Hell, no. I just follow CK around. She's a hell of a lot better looking than you, Marko. Peace, man!!!! LOL

LMAO FIVER!!!!!!!!!!

We are stocked in the backfield. And I think the Buck isn't necessary if MOATS steps up. I personally like Marion Barber, only because he reminds of an old school back. Brian's type of running is hard to classify, the only word would be effective. Ryan Moats has prove himseld in the games he has started in, and i would just like to say that, give Moats a chance, give carolina buck for a 2nd (and another if ur lucky) and just let Moats and Hunt prove themselves. We will not be dissapointed, we also have the best rushing QB currently in the NFL, (but i fully acknowledge mcnabb as an emerging pocket passer) so thats what i think will get us #1

good stuff prince, thanks for the kicken input heres' to the 08 season & to tampa!!!

Hmmm.......now how does a post 10 hours ago end up at the bottom of this? This site is jacked up.

i guess he's on mod replies....i dunno anymore five i just dunno!!!!!

Our Eagles are going to be great this year the defense......stand by........like i said before look at the Lions game...... look at the teams performance philly can be the team going to Tampa! Don will be healthy, and i have a feeling they are goona turn it on.....no stops till Tampa

TAMPA!!!!!!!!!!! oh yeah warlord i hear that!!! the whole team & a whole lotta crazy philly fans in TAMPA....now that's what i'm talkin bout - positive tudes!!!!!!!!!

I still think that you need to find a better short yardage guy. Westbrook is a freak but he isn't as effective without space.

anything can happen cowboyswin08 never know :) !!!

If you allow him to make that first move, then you're done. On short yardage , he doesn't have that option most of the time. Not sure who the short yardage guy is for the Eagles. Is it going to be the new guy? Klecko?

it's a secret cuz we can't tell our rivals now can we LMAO! i think ALOT of stuff is gonna change with the signing of the new players we've aquired and in all honesty time will tell the tale....nothing would surprise me at this point-make sense?

Makes sense. At this point, it could be Marko......LOL. He could clear a good hole for BWest.

SHUSH man that is a rumor LOL! no rumors allowed in my corner of the yard BARK BARK lmao!!!!

By the way thanks for posting this. I pland to keep up with the series.

It's our job as rivals to keep up with what's going on with the other teams in the NFC.

oh your welcome!!! thank u for replying & hanging out !!!

Philly and the Giants are in the top-10 in rushing and having a top-15 defense as well.

yeah babeeeeee sweet lol!! there's more to that guys blog, he kicks-check his site out !!!
