This is the weekly awards watch. These are the leading contenders for each of the major awards, as well as runners-up. For the full article visit the URL below. Coach of the Year 1. Jeff Fisher, Tennessee Titans - The Bears were my predicted "first loss" for the Titans, and they did everything I thought they would: take away the run. It wasn't enough, though, as Kerry Collins posted a season high in passing yardage. 2. Mike Smith, Atlanta Falcons - The Falcons are only one game out of the division lead. The only part of that sentence anyone ever thought would be true prior to the season was the "one game" part. 3. Bill Belichick, New England Patriots - A team QB'd by Matt Cassel is currently tied for second place in the AFC. I still can't get over that. For the full article, visit the URL.

Will The Bucs Now Jump Back Into McCutlerGate

I have been trying to be cautiously optimistic about the potential for Broncos Pro Bowl QB Jay Cutler and their new Head Coach Josh McDaniels not being able to resolve their differences.   The Bucs seemed to be the team where Cutler would have been headed had the Broncos and the Buccaneers moved a little quicker on the Matt Cassel trade front.   Team owner Pat Bowlen has been unusually...

Why the Patriots MUST Sign Daunte Culpepper Now

This week we wrote about ten teams that passed on Daunte Culpepper. Ten teams that shouldn't have. Guess who sat at the #1 position? Yeah. the New England Patriots. Call it a massive jinx. Or call it foresight. But it happened and now we are hoping that Bob Kraft reads this: Sign Daunte Culpepper. We don't know much about Tom Brady's injury, but we know the...

He Said What

We all know that Randy Moss loves to talk, which is one reason why he will fit so well in a Raider uniform. Most of the talking is backed up by the black and silver though. The latest thing Moss had to say was about his x-quarterback Daunte Culpepper and his current quarterback Kerry Collins. When it ...

Falcons Don?t Seem Concerned About Ryan

From: RotoTimes.com Falcons rookie QB Matt Ryan has thrown six interceptions over his last five games, but coach Mike Smith does not believe the rookie is wearing down, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Ravens' Reed shows 49ers what they're missing

Does Baltimore Ravens free safety Ed Reed have a fan club? If he does, sign me up. This is a player I'd definitely pay to see, and there aren't many NFL free safeties in this era that I could say that about.Reed put on another dazzling show Sunday in the Ravens' 27-9 playoff victory over Miami. He intercepted two passes and, naturally, returned one of those 64 yards for a touchdown...

Dahl in the Lead for the Teams Right Guard Spot

From: Pro Football Weekly Sources say Harvey Dahl, a practice-squad player for much of his career, has overtaken Kynan Forney for the Falcons' starting ORG spot. We hear Dahl's nasty temperament has been the secret to his recent success in Atlanta. Head coach Mike Smith's staff is looking for guys with a mean streak, and Dahl [...]

Yay for good theater

There was a rumor that the Predators were going to play Chris Mason in net tonight, but Dan Ellis just led the boys out of the tunnel, so we have the battle of former Iowa Stars goaltenders that the entire hockey world has been awaiting for years. Mike Smith beat Dan Ellis out to become the playoff ...

A different sort of Pro Day

BC holds Pro Day every year. With Matt rated as the top QB overall, last year saw hordes decend upon the Heights to watch BC and New England area prospects. This year will have a different feel. There will be the usual mix of scouts, agents, and coaches. You won't see nearly as much media. Raji is a hot pick but Defensive Tackles don't generate the interest of the draftnik...

Belichick Responsible for Cutler Mess?

New details are emerging that may at last lend a bit of clarity to the murky situation that has been the Jay Cutler melodrama in Denver.  From the Denver Post: Somewhere, no doubt behind a closed door, New England coach Bill Belichick may be snickering. McJaygate? When all else fails, blame it on Belichick. According to an NFL source, the proposed trade that never materialized...
