I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on an Eagles moment that will live forever in my mind and in many other Eagles fans. "The hit heard round the world". It was supposed to be "his" year. All the hype about him leading up to the draft and surrounding him all year. He was supposed to be "the great one". After sending Tiki Barber home one final time the Eagles flew down to the bayou of New Orleans to face-off against one of the teams I have grown to hate. I remember it like it was only yesterday New Orleans won the toss and the first play from scrimmage Brees threw a little swing pass to Bush and Sheldon Brown recognized the play unfolding and he folded Reggie in half. Everyone who I was watching the game with at the same time said "daaaaaaaaamn he got fucked up". My favorite part was how calm the announcers were like they didn't just see someone almost die. You know it's a bone-crunching hit when you get the nickname hit-man out of one hit. You gotta watch the video the commentary by Reggie is so funny.
