Sal Paolantonio Takes Marvin Harrison To The Woodshed

WOW! Not a Harrison fan or foe, but regarding Sal and his question ("No one else has asked it, so I'll ask it.") about Marvin going back to his old neighborhood. It doesn't matter how long it takes, or who it is, ignorance always rises to the surface. I would ASSUME that Marvin is in his old neighborhood much for the same reasons Magic Johnson opens his establishments in lower income neighborhoods - to invest in underserved communities (idiot). This commentary from Sal kind of turned my stomach.

I'll save my comments on the gun, as well as Marvin's guilt or innocence, when more is known. But, if it is a dangerous environment, as North Philly is sadly known to be - and as Sal so eloquently pointed out - does he not have a right to own a gun to protect himself and his businesses?

Exactly kat...for the life of me I cant understand why anyone would look at marvin negatively for opening establishments in poor areas.

That really bothered me. There are so many communities that could use some economic stimulation (more jobs, better schools, possibility, etc.). But it is attitudes like Sal's that clearly explain why this does not happen.

Has Sal ever heard of Magic Johnson and all the businesses he has started in inner cities across the US? Magic has done more than Sal to help people and who is Sal to question where someone wants to start a business. asshat

Well I am a Cowboys fan so take this for what its worth, but I think that Sal is a complete idiot. He SO rarely says anything worth hearing that I usually turn off the radio when he is on. I heard him on Mike and Mike and he didn't change my opinion of him. Let's all just cool down until some more facts hit the news. There is a lot of unconfirmed information out there right now.

I agree, I will keep my nose and opinions out of this shooting. I have already heard too many conflicting stories.

Isn'this business a bar or a nightclub? That's not exactly the kind of business the inner city needs. Bars and nightclubs are not opened for the betterment of the neighborhood, they're opened for profit. Let's not make him out to be a guy that's giving back. At least not in this instance. Not all businesses are created equally.

He also has two other non-nightclub businesses in the neighborhood. So, I'm going to go with the giving back theme.
