On Sunday, the field goal pictured above gave the Cincinnati Bengals a last-second overtime victory over the Cleveland Browns. It appeared pretty routine at the time. Shayne Graham(notes) booted it through the uprights, the officials positioned under the goalpost raised their hands to signal the kick was good, the Bengals celebrated, the Browns sulked and Rich Gannon was disappointed there was no kickoff afterward. But now, five days later, the validity of the kick is coming into question. Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan asserted this afternoon that the field goal was wide right amd should have been called no good.
