The Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl Running Back Willie Parker is out for the remainder of the season with a fractured fibula. He broke his leg on the second play from scrimmage in Thursday Nights game against the St. Louis Rams. Najeh Davenport has picked up most of the rushing duties and is expected to carry the load through the rest of the regular season

Torry Holt will be going to Hawaii this February as the Rams' sole selection to the 2008 Pro Bowl. With 83 receptions for 1,055 yards and 7 touchdowns - and on a bad team, at that - Holt certainly earned his reserve spot on the NFC roster.
Far more puzzling than Holt's selection, though, was Will Witherspoon's absence from the squad.

Last night the Steelers got back to their winning ways, albeit in underwhelming fashion. Pittsburgh keeps racking up wins, but they don't really look like a Super Bowl contender. Now that Willie Parker is out for the year, my hopes for another deep run in the playoffs are dimmed even further.

Do you remember how good Marshall Faulk was? He was the LaDanian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook of his time. He could do it all. He was a dominant force rushing the ball and receiving out of the backfield. An integral part of the "Greatest Show on Turf." Well, the Rams recognized Faulk for his accomplishments and contribution to their team by retiring his jersey number 28.
