David Tyree, the ex-Giant and Super Bowl hero, is working out for former Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo in St. Louis today, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Tyree, who was among the final preseason cuts for the Giants, worked out for the Baltimore Ravens last week but the team chose not to sign him. Both his surgically repaired knee and his balky hamstring are apparently healthy, because an NFL source said he passed his physical with the Ravens. Tyree makes sense for Spagnuolo and the Rams, because the Rams are terrible and could use a good veteran influence in the locker room, especially one who is solid on special teams. Tyree also has drawn interest from the Kansas City Chiefs, and the story in the Post-Dispatch says the Jacksonville Jaguars are interested, too.

Coughlin on Danny Ware: 2 weeks

Tom Coughlin has indicated Danny Ware will miss 2 weeks and will be day to day after that. Look for Allen Patrick to move up off the practice squad this week in preparation for Sundays matchup against the Cowboys… a healthy rushing attack will be critical for Giants success in Dallas.

Gameday: Redskins vs Giants

Last week, on the Frankie the Sports Guy program, I predicted a Giants victory. I think the Giants will win 20-14. However, I am concerned about the Giants injured secondary. Starting cornerback Aaron Ross is out. It looks like nickel back Kevin Dockery will not play. This means undrafted rookie Bruce Johnson will get playing time. Yikes!! Furthermore, the Giants have three safeties...

Giants Down Redskins, 23-17; Ware, Nicks Injured

Defense Dominates In OpenerIt was a pretty day, but not such a pretty game at Giants Stadium this afternoon. A hard-hitting affair between two of the league's oldest rivals ended with the Giants ahead by six points which was not indicative of how the game actually went. Thanks to the resurrected defensive line and it's resident playmakers, Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck, the...

Gotta Love Brandon Jacobs

Brandon Jacobs quote to Matt Mosley after Sunday’s game. “They should’ve put Detriot in there instead of us.” referring to the Cowboys scheduling the Giants in their home opener this Sunday night. You have got to love the hatred for the Cowboys and the confidence in his team!

Giants 23 Redskins 17

For those of you who watched, you know the final score was not indicative of the way the Giants outplayed the Redskins. This was a very good win for the Giants in every way except the injuries.1) Just like the Giants lost to Philadelphia last year in W14 20-14, the Skins got beat by the Giants in much the same way. Both games saw a special teams TD at the end of the half (punt block...

Jerry expects record crowd for Giants game

IRVING - "This easily could be the most exciting, unique week I've had with the Cowboys." That's how pumped Jerry Jones is for Sunday night's game with the New York Giants, the first NFL regular-season game at Cowboys Stadium. Jones said on his weekly radio show the game is expected to set an NFL attendance record with possibly as many as 105,000 fans packing...

Giants – Redskins: 10 min to go in the half

Sometimes you hate being right.  Today, I hate being half-right.  I knew the Giants’ receivers / Redskins’ defensive backs match-up would be a major key to the game.  I didn’t know Giants’ receivers would occasionally be wide open, and I didn’t know the Redskins would absolutely whiff when trying to tackle Mario Manningham along the [...]

Giants LB Boley reinstated; RB Johnson claimed off waivers

Weakside linebacker Michael Boley, who was suspended by the NFL from the New York Giants season opener, was reinstated from the reserve-suspended list on Tuesday.

Giants' defensive ends create all the havoc

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. | New York's bookends overshadowed Big Al's debut. In an NFC East showdown featuring three of the game's marquee defensive linemen, New York sack specialists Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck trumped Washington defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth in the impact department. Haynesworth, whom the Redskins lured from Tennessee with the most lucrative contract...

Michael Boley's reinstatement among moves made by New York Giants

Giants rookie WR Nicks sprains left foot; RB Ward dislocates left elbow

Hakeem Nicks, the New York Giants' first-round draft pick, was taken off the field on a cart after apparently hurting his left foot during the fourth quarter of Sunday's season opener against the visiting Washington Redskins.

Sheridan showered with Giant praise after win

Whatever worry there might have been about the Giants' new defensive coordinator was washed away with one small gesture at the end of a very big day - what Antonio Pierce called "a slight Gatorade bath."
