"We can get it back to the great old Raiders days. We need to."
D-Mac and J-Russ know very well what they need to do. Reading this makes me feel more and more that these two are up for the challenge and want to become legends.
Niners need to win, and they need to win now.
The San Francisco 49ers were supposed to be a contender in the NFC West last year, but instead, they were one of the biggest disappointments in the league. Now, Mike Nolan's butt is firmly on the hot seat--can the Niners turn things around, or will they be breaking in a new coach at this time next year?
Most Fierce NFL Mascot Competition: Jaxson De Ville vs. Raiders fans
If there is a large, overstuffed NFL mascot that plays the villain role as well as the Raider Nation does, it's Jaxson De Ville.
This is the mascot whose foul behavior actually caused the NFL to make rules changes to restrict just how ornery a mascot is allowed to get with an opposing team.
This is no cartoon character. This is no comedy act. Lord help you if you ever...
Oakland Raiders: Media Sources Can't Be Trusted
Quick, if you read this headline, would you think it was true?
RAIDER FAN ATTACKS CHARGER FAN
More importantly, would it change your perspective if you knew the Charger fan was breaking into the Raider fan's house, and he was defending his family?
This is a good example of a slanted media that is becoming more and more obvious, as the offseason rolls on.
Case one...
49ers Future and Emerging Leaders
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
In the glory decades when the San Francisco 49ers won five Super Bowl rings there was always one thing consistent with the team, its identity. The teams of the 80's led by Joe Montana and the great late Bill Walsh were defined as a West-Coast offense using short, horizontal passing attack to help stretch the [...]
Raider Nation bids farewell to one of the founding fathers John Rauch
The associated press is reporting that Oakland Raider legend John Rauch, the man who succeeded Al Davis as head coach of the Oakland Raiders has passed away. He was 80. Despite the fact that its been decades since Rauch has coached the Raiders, it was his teams that kicked the run of Oakland Raiders dominance into overdrive.
RAIDER FANS ARE THE BEST FANS!!!
Raider fans must come together on this one. Even through the 'rough' past five years in this franchise, the Nation is still a force to be reckoned with. That's why I'm encouraging all Raider fans to take time to vote. Go RAIDERS 2008!!!
TALKIN RAIDER DEFENSE
Now, comes the fun part of Oakland's season. The other part of the team...
Yep, we're talking the defense. Also known as, "the guys that need to stop the other team from scoring."
The last few seasons were a mish-mash of oddly constucted defenses, a few bright spots, but pure and simple we couldn't stop the run.
Case in point, any game we played in...
Pain-free Curry is stronger, lighter, Back in action
? Wide receiver Ronald Curry, back from surgery to remove a bone spur which he said hampered him all last season, returned to practice and looked as if he has never been away.
On one play, Curry faked outside and made a sharp cut inside in which he beat cornerback Darrick Brown. He caught balls in traffic, took some incidental contact, and showed little in the way or rust.

Oakland Raiders: Will JaMarcus Russell and Darren McFadden Be As Good As Advertised?
JaMarcus Russell, Darren McFadden and some offseason moves, does this equal a dramatic improvement for the Oakland Raiders, a team that hasn't won more than five games in a season since 2002? With the ball firmly in the hands of Russell for 2008... www.rawsportsblog.com
Q&A With Niko Koutouvides
A couple of days ago, I posted the Darrell Jackson interview. Let's take a look at his friend and former Seattle teammate, Niko Koutouvides. Koutouvides and Jackson will suit up for the Broncos for the first time this year and bring some more Super Bowl experience to the team. Koutouvides is a middle linebacker that was drafted by Seattle in 2004 after playing at Purdue.

Oakland Raiders: News you can lose
Today the Oakland Raiders started this week's session of OTA's, otherwise known as Organized Team Activities. Even so, the only news out of Oakland was the release of Brian White, the quarterback out of Portland State. I don't know the details of his release, but it was already known that he was going to let go when he wasn't around last week at the Raiders mini-camp.
