If there is a large, overstuffed NFL mascot that plays the villain role as well as the Raider Nation does, it's Jaxson De Ville.
This is the mascot whose foul behavior actually caused the NFL to make rules changes to restrict just how ornery a mascot is allowed to get with an opposing team.

The associated press is reporting that Oakland Raider legend John Rauch, the man who succeeded Al Davis as head coach of the Oakland Raiders has passed away. He was 80. Despite the fact that its been decades since Rauch has coached the Raiders, it was his teams that kicked the run of Oakland Raiders dominance into overdrive.

The last few seasons were a mish-mash of oddly constucted defenses, a few bright spots, but pure and simple we couldn't stop the run.

? Wide receiver Ronald Curry, back from surgery to remove a bone spur which he said hampered him all last season, returned to practice and looked as if he has never been away.
On one play, Curry faked outside and made a sharp cut inside in which he beat cornerback Darrick Brown. He caught balls in traffic, took some incidental contact, and showed little in the way or rust.

A couple of days ago, I posted the Darrell Jackson interview. Let's take a look at his friend and former Seattle teammate, Niko Koutouvides. Koutouvides and Jackson will suit up for the Broncos for the first time this year and bring some more Super Bowl experience to the team. Koutouvides is a middle linebacker that was drafted by Seattle in 2004 after playing at Purdue.

Today the Oakland Raiders started this week's session of OTA's, otherwise known as Organized Team Activities. Even so, the only news out of Oakland was the release of Brian White, the quarterback out of Portland State. I don't know the details of his release, but it was already known that he was going to let go when he wasn't around last week at the Raiders mini-camp.
