Bradie James,
Keith Brooking
TEAMS: Dallas Cowboys
TEAMS: Dallas Cowboys
DENVER - Nobody seems to know.
Not Wade Phillips. Not Tony Romo. Not Jerry Jones.
I asked all three why MBIII had only one carry in the second half and none of them had an anwer.
"I'm not sure why," Jones said. "I haven't talked to him, whether he's tightened up a little bit or not. He is not, to my knowledge, had anything worthy of giving me a (injury) report about."
Of course, Barber's absence isn't the only reason the offense was awful. The offensive line had its worst game, surrendering five sacks. Martellus Bennett had a big holding penalty. The wideouts couldn't get any separation. And, of course, Romo was ineffective.
The offense gets a big fat F.
And although the defense played solid, Anthony Spencer missed an interception and Terence Newman gave up the winning TD to Brandon Marshall.
I'll give the defense a B, though, because Bradie James recovered a fumble and Keith Brooking made a huge fourth down stop. Really, the defense played well enough to win.
Bottom line: T...

Barber starts
DENVER - Shaking off a thigh injury, Marion Barber started for the Cowboys and gained 1 yards on his first carry.
(UPDATE: On his third carry, Barber ripped off a 9-yard run for a first down. He shows no sign of being bothered by the thigh).
A first for Tony Romo
For the first time in his career, Tony Romo has gone back-to-back games without a touchdown pass.
Sunday was just the seventh time in his 43 starts in which Romo has not had a touchdown throw. The Cowboys are 3-4 in those games.
Romo has thrown 93 passes since his 1-yard touchdown throw in the second quarter of the Week 2 loss against the New York Giants without a touchdown.

Romo has lost his touch
DENVER - With the running game stopped, the Cowboys have turned to Tony Romo to make plays.
Only problem is, his throws are all over the place.
Romo just went 0 for 3 on Dallas' last possession, misfiring badly on all three plays.
The series also included a holding penatly against Martellus Bennett that wiped out a 16-yard run by Tashard Choice.
Somehow, though, the Cowboys continue...
DenverPost: Analysis: Aikman says Romo "special
By Jeff Legwold The Denver Post Posted: 10/03/2009 01:00:00 AM MDTHall of Fame quarterback and current Fox analyst Troy Aikman had some intriguing thoughts on Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo this week. And if he's right, the Broncos have a difficult task Sunday.Romo, like Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton, has taken his fair share of heat from the public. Romo is one of the topics...
'No Tony, No!"
You think Tom Landry would have screamed that or something similar at Tony Romo when he twice targeted Sam Hurd in the end zone with time running out?
Add Michael Irvin to Troy Aikman in questioning the play calling.
Romo didn't know it was fourth down?
Maybe Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's inability to bust through the glass ceiling against which his career is repeatedly bumping comes not from a lack of desire or work ethic.Maybe he's just not smart enough to be a high-level NFL quarterback.The...
Witten not involved in passing game
Jason Witten is Tony Romo's favorite target.
Not this game. Six different players have caught a pass for the Cowboys in the first half. Witten isn't among them. Romo hasn't even looked in his direction.
That's a far cry from Monday night's game, when Witten had eight of his nine receptions in the first half.
Cowboys: Romo knew it was 4th down
Tony Romo really can count to four, at least the Dallas Cowboys say so.
The most basic throw is suddenly beyond Romo’s range
The Cowboys have many problems, but first and foremost is Tony Romo.
Don't Put 'Em in Canton Yet
by Dave GoldbergFiled under: Cowboys, Jets, NFL QuarterbacksIt's the line Bill Parcells always uses when a rookie or some other youngster has a big day: "Don't put 'em in Canton yet.''On Sunday, the two non-Hall of Famers in question were Matt Sanchez and Tony Romo, who came up small in losses by the Jets and Cowboys. Sanchez gave the Saints 14 of their 24 points in a 24-10 loss...

Turn Him Loose
It took three full games, 59 minutes and a couple of seconds, but I finally recognized Tony Romo this season.
“He Did It, and He Payed For It”
Yes my friends, Champ Bailey is back. After being tested over and over again by Tony Romo, Champ ended up with an interception and a game winning play where he covered Receiver Sam Hurd so well, it lost the Cowboys the game. There is no doubt that Champ Bailey has re-established his side of the [...]
