The Penalty Flag:
Now that the 2012-13 season is over for Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts, it’s now time to look into next year and the free agent pool. Let’s say, for giggles, the Colts were willing to spend serious dollars on a big name free agent.
Let’s play a game called, “What if”.
What if the Colts wanted a big time receiver to compliment Reggie Wayne? I think we all saw T.Y. Hilton, and what he can bring to the table, and we pretty much know Austin Collie can no longer count to ten without flashcards.
Who would make the perfect No. 2 receiver?
Two names come to mind and both of them are going to demand a hefty paycheck. Mike Wallace of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Salsa Dancer himself, New York Giants’ Victor Cruz. Yeah, I know, it’s a pipe dream, but it’s a fake game we’re playing. The chances of Cruz calypsoing out of New York is a long shot, but I can see Wallace leaving Pittsburgh for the fast dome life of Lucus Oil. Just image, Wayne, Wallace and Hilton running down Luck bombs. I’m getting a stiffy just thinking about it.… Read more

The Colts did an amazing job going from 2 wins in 2011 to 11 in 2012, the 2nd biggest turnaround in NFL history. Even more impressive, they did it in the face of, as Chuck Pagano would call it, “circumstances,” as Head Coach Pagano had to leave 3 games into the season after being diagnosed with leukemia. “ChuckStrong” became a rallying cry for this team, which went 9-3 in...
Team needs and impending free agents for the Indianapolis Colts.
Indianapolis Colts star rookie quarterback Andrew Luck has been selected to play in the 2013 Pro Bowl on Sunday in place of Tom Brady, who is out with an injury, the team announced on Monday.
Though the nature of Brady’s injury is unknown at the moment, it’s safe to say that had the New England Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Brady wouldn’t be sitting on the sidelines...
The Indianapolis Colts have promoted Joe Gilbert to offensive line coach.
He spent last season as Indy's assistant offensive line coach.
Gilbert replaces Harold Goodwin, who was hired by Bruce Arians as Arizona's new offensive coordinator on Monday. Goodwin was Indy's offensive line coach last season when Arians was calling plays as the Colts' offensive coordinator...
Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning will get a chance to be teammates after all - at Sunday's Pro Bowl.
Luck earned his way to the game when New England's Tom Brady pulled out with an undisclosed injury.
He'll be joined by teammates Reggie Wayne and Robert Mathis in Hawaii and Manning, the quarterback who preceded Luck in Indy.
Luck was the No. 1 overall pick in April&...
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will replace New
England Patriots veteran Tom Brady in the 2013 Pro Bowl, the team has
announced. Brady has bowed out of the NFL All-Star game once again, this time
due to an undisclosed injury.
After being selected first overall in last spring’s NFL
Draft by Indianapolis, Luck led the Colts to an 11-5 record and playoff
Unlike the first two teams report cards in the AFC South, the next two teams had quite different seasons. From go almost everyone had the Houston Texans pegged to repeat as division winners. But what not even the biggest optimist in Indianapolis predicted was that the Colts would end up finishing only one game behind Houston in the final standings.
In a season that was all about...
New Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton is eager to get started.
Just minutes after Indianapolis made the hiring official Saturday, Hamilton told reporters he was eager to reunite with three of his former pupils at Stanford - quarterback Andrew Luck, tight end Coby Fleener and receiver Griff Whalen.
All three have some idea of what kind of offense Hamilton will use in the...
2012 was the year of the rookie quarterback in the NFL. Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck electrified the NFL and all three led their respective teams to post-season play this season. Now, all three will be on the NFL Pro Bowl roster. Obviously Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III will not be playing in the annual all-star game after undergoing knee surgery...
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will replace Tom Brady in the Pro Bowl and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will replace Matt Ryan of the Falcons.
Ryan was forced to drop out after suffering a sprained shoulder during yesterday’s NFC title game and Brady clearly doesn’t feel like playing after losing yesterday’s AFC title game.
Now that the Pro Bowl is played before the Super Bowl some of the players can’t make the Pro Bowl since they will be playing in the Super Bowl. Still others bow out of the Pro Bowl because of an injury or they came up just short in the playoffs that they are done with football for the season.
Sometimes one man’s loss is another man’s gain. For two rookie quarterbacks they are...
