A scan of Jason Witten’s injured spleen showed that he doesn’t need surgery on it at this time. The Dallas Cowboys tight end suffered the spleen injury and internal bleeding after being hit during the teams opening preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. No decision has been made on Witten’s status for the NFL opener when the Cowboys travel to New York to face the Giants.
