Here we go again, the season can’t get here soon enough. Roger Godell will need to restructure the off-season to give the players less free time. It seems that the NFL players these days have too much free time on their hands. This has been the theme of the 2012 pre-season and this weekend was no different.
Detroit Lions cornerback Aaron Berry has been arrested in Pennsylvania for the second time this offseason.
Cpl. Kyle Gautsch of the Harrisburg Police Department says Berry was taken into custody early Saturday morning on three charges of simple assault. Gautsch said there ”was a weapon allegedly brandished during the incident.”
Berry, who is from Harrisburg, was also arrested in that area June 23 on suspicion of DUI, failure to stop and render aid from an accident and other counts.
”I would just hope that everybody just holds their judgment on this matter,” said Corky Goldstein, Berry’s lawyer. ”There’s a lot more to this situation. … I know Aaron is very upset over this whole situation. Let’s give the opportunity for all the facts to come out.”
The Lions released a statement on Sunday.
”We are extremely disappointed by the reports involving Aaron Berry,” the team said. ”We are currently gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate.”
Appropriate? This team has nothing but a bunch of over paid immature grown-ups. Between Suh and the stomp heard around the world, Coach Schwartz showing his inner kidself after taking a 49ers beating, Nick Farely caught with marjuiana, and now this.
It seems this team has been waiting too long for the “appropiate” time. All this talent on one team, but they all want to be individuals. It’s a shame, because of this, we will never see this team go any farther than they did last sesson.
