Pro Football Zone:
Indianapolis Colts rookie tight end Coby Fleener filled in for Peter King of SI.com for his weekly Monday Morning Quarterback piece and wrote about last week’s rookie symosium. One of the most shocking things that he mentioned, was that Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones claimed that he spent $1 million in one weekend.
Terrell Owens was on stage with Jones and turned to him and said, ”Man, you crazy!”
Jones told the rookies that 90 percent of his childhood friends that within a few years of him, are either dead of in prison. He also credited NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for helping him change and says he only had himself to blame for being suspended.
I can’t imagine what you can blow $1 million on in one weekend.
BEST OF MAXIM
For Indianapolis Colts fans more accustomed to settling into their recliner on Sunday afternoons to watch the Colts than a seat at Lucas Oil Stadium, the NFL's new guidelines for local television blackouts will come as a welcome bit of news.
Under the old system, each NFL team has to sell out all of their non-premium tickets 48 hours prior to kick off for the network broadcast...
The offensive line this upcoming season must be solid or Andrew Luck and the offense will fail to take off.
First, let's breakdown the positives and negatives the current offensive line of the Colts:
Left Tackle Anthony Castonzo -- The 2nd year left tackle looks to improve on his mediocre rookie campaign. Some say he was rushed into the left tackle spot...
Every year coaches come and go in the NFL, and while some struggle as a Head Coach others transition well. Since 2008, rookie Head Coaches have seen success in their first year and 2012 will be no different. Three first year coaches took their teams to the playoffs in 2008, Mike Smith of the Atlanta [...]
Nate Dunlevy and I both believe this team not only can, but must rebuild in two years. We also agree that the Colts have solved their one glaring problem quite convincingly:
If Andrew Luck is destined to be a good pro, let alone a great one, the Colts will be in solid shape offensively in just a couple of years.
The single biggest factor that leads to long rebuild windows is a...
In a surprise move the Colts will not open both training camp sessions each day as they have in the past:
In a new wrinkle, the only practice open to the public each day will be the afternoon’s 1:50-4:30 p.m. workout (except for the two night practices Aug. 7 and Aug. 16). The only morning workout open to fans will be the last day, Aug. 17, when the team is scheduled to go from...
Mel Kiper (yeah, I know) thinks offensive coordinator Bruce Arians will likely employ a fairly flexible offense designed to take advantage of matchups. Paul Kuharsky responds:
Kuharsky: The question about a flexible offense that shows a lot of looks is how a patchwork offensive line will function as part of it all. The team is counting on three veteran additions -- center Samson...
Last week Adam “Pacman” Jones spoke at the 2012 NFL Rookie Symposium. Colts rookie tight end Coby Fleener was in attendance and he shared an interesting tidbit about a weekend where he spent $1 million when he first got into the league. Details weren’t provided but I guess perhaps plane tickets for you and friends, lodging, bottle service, car service and [...]
MONEY, IT'S A GAS
While speaking last week at the NFL Rookie Symposium, Adam "Pacman" Jones shared a story about how he once blew $1 million in a single weekend.
Indianapolis Colts rookie tight end Coby Fleener wrote the MMQB piece this week with Peter King on vacation and it included his rookie symposium experience. He covers the "Ultimate Rookie Challenge" that took place during the symposium and explains how the Steelers rookies finished 5th, which won them each a Xbox Kinect.
Mark Kaboly checked in with Jonathan Dwyer recently...
Inidanpolis Colts tight end Coby Fleener, who is sitting in this week for Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback, wrote that Bengals cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones told the crowd at the Rookie Symposium that he once dropped $1 million in one weekend during the height of his partying days.
In case you haven't heard, 'Pacman' is no longer with us. All...
When last we left retching word blender Peter King, he had just embarked on a month of slothful respite from the slothful travails of a person who contributes nothing. Devoid of fresh hate fuel, we shared with you a notable 2002 episode of PK tonguing the Land Baron’s balls within parentheticals. He also made it clear that there has been and will be no final score in NFL history...
The "Pacman" days may be over, but it's not without some interesting stories for Adam Jones. Jones spoke at the NFL Rookie Symposium last week. Among the topics of conversation was his troubled past, which included one especially wild weekend. Jones regretfully recounted spending $1 million in one weekend, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King. The news even...
