Minnesota Vikings' running back, Adrian Peterson, was removed from the physically unable to perform list on Sunday and is now allowed to join his teammates for practice.  The Vikings are hoping that he will be healthy enough to actively help their offense that was stymied for only six points in Friday's game by the San Francisco 49ers.

Peterson, who rushed for 970 yards last season, his first time under 1000 yards, tore his ACL to end his season after only 12 games.  Peterson is the catalyst for an offense that struggles mightily due to inconsistent quarterback play starting with his rookie year.  As a matter of fact, Peterson has been the running back for a total of eight different starting quarterbacks.  It is essential that Peterson stays healthy so he can help this offense get back into the end zone.

Peterson had been working out not only on his own but also with athletic staff, but was just unable to participate in team work outs.  Being removed from the physically unable to perform list allows him now to rejoin the team.  However, he cannot just jump back in and do everything.  He will not be allowed to play in full pads however until Tuesday.

If Peterson can come back to full form by the start of the season, we could all be looking at a much improved Vikings team.  Christian Ponder showed some improvements in his two drives that he played and can only get better with an Pro-Bowl running back in Peterson in the backfield.
